In Field Firing, the soldier encounters more compli- cated conditions. They learn different firing posi- tions. They encounter the pop-up target - the dark silhouette which will become the measure of their fir- ing skill. Placed at distances from 70 to 300 meters, the targets are centrally con- trolled to appear and disappear in varied times and sequences. As the training progresses, it becomes more difficulty the soldier at first knows the target sequenceg later dealing with surprise targets. The targets are killable - when hit by a bullet, they fall automatically. This system adds interest and realism to the training, and gives the soldier instant evidence of firing ac- curacy.
