Since I946 This or- ganizaTion has gone Thru a series OT reorganizaTion and sTreamlining which has reduced The organizaTion Trom six organizaTions oT regimenTal sTrucTure and a sTrengTh oT approximaTely 2000 cadre To The presenT sTreamlined organizaTion operaTing wiTh approxi- maTely 300 cadre. From The period April I946 To 30 June I949, The Overseas ReplacemenTDepoT was under The iurisdicTion oT The TransporTaTion Corps. On I July I949, This TuncTion was Transferred To FirsT Army. SubsequenTly, The ReplacemenT SecTion, as a parT oT The Personnel CenTer, was Transferred To ForT Dix, New Jersey on I December I949. The mission of The ReplacemenT SecTion is To receive. Teed, billeT and TransporT all ground 'Force personnel ordered overseas via New York PorT of EmbarlcaTion. During The Time Trom April I'-746 To February l950, This SecTion processed and Transferred over- seas approximaTely 190,428 oTTicers and enlisTed men.
