The s+udy begins wi+h basic fundamenfals of eleclricify and magnefism so +he sfudeni- may beH'er undersfand and perform proiecls on magnefos, ignifion sysfems and igni- Hon fiming. The sfudenl' becomes familiar wi'l'h inlernal combusfion engine principles, use of special fools: does removal and inslallalion of cylinders and valvesg checks valve clearances: removes and inslalls accessories: inspecfion and main+enance of induc+ion and exhausl' sysfemsg inslallafion, inspecfion, reading and in'l'erpre+a- lion of engine inslrumenfs, and preparafion of engines for sforage. Ac+ual engines are worked on by fhe sfudenls while mock-ups and cul'-away models provide demonsfrafion of operafional principles.
