V 1 1 I h The Dental Departmentachieved and maintained operational dental readiness for ship's com- pany, staff and our embarked airwing Sailors and Marines during the deployment. An average of 75 patients per day received dental treatment each day, ranging from routine examinations and cleanings to complex restorative and oral surgery procedures. The HST Dental Department set the standard for quality dental care. The dental officers include an oral surgeon and 'four general den- tistry officers. As a full service treatmentfacility, Dental provides a Wide variety of care, including restorative and preventive dentistry, prosthodontics, endodintiCS1and,oral surgery. An oral surgery technician and basic and advanced laboratory technicians.isproVidC Specialty support services. Four- teen dental technicians provide direct chair side assistance, perfonn oral prophylaxis and preventive dentistry treatment and operate the central steriliZation foom,a10ng.w1th front desk patient adminis- tration operations.
