After commissioning he was assigned to USS BASILONEIDD-8241 as Gunnery Assis- tant, followed by service in USS DALE KCG-191 as First Lieutenant and Missile Fire Control Ojjicer Upon com- pletion fy' Destroyer School in Newport he served as Engineer Ojjicer in USS TALBOT lFFG-42, and as Mate- rial Ojiicer on the stalfof Destroyer Squadron TWENTY- F1 VE. After a shore assignment as an instructor at the U. S. Naval Academy, Captain Williams was the commissioning Executive Officer of USS AUBREY FITCH KFFG-341 in October 1982. Captain Williams served ashore in Washington as the Militarjv Personnel Policy Coordinator in the Ojfficer of the ChieftJNaval Operations lOP-132. Following gradu- ation from the National Hhr College in 1987, he was assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency in the Direc- torate of JCS Support, serving as Operations and Intel- ligence Planner with the Joint Operations Division, Direc- torate for Operations lJ3!JODj, the Joint Staff 4 CCZIYZIYZEIZ Z Wg,- WZZIZZ .9-E gyfarkz Qdzzfeafzlafaf .Q-We In 1989 Captain Williams was assigned as Command ing Ojficen USS CONYNGHAM IDDG-172. ieutenant Commander David A. Mee was born in Manhattan, New York and was raised in London. England. He graduated from Liverpool University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology in 1981. He was commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy at Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island in June 1982. Hisjirst tour in the U.S. Navy was in USS FOX ICG-331 where he served as the Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer until November 1985. After completing Engineering Offi- cer of the Watch training at Surface Warfare Officers School Command, Coronado, CalU'omia, he reported aboad USS OGDEN ILPD-51 where he served as the Main Propulsion Ojicer until February 1988. After graduating from Surface Waqfare Officers Depart- ment Head course in October 1988, he reported to USS VANDEGRIFT I FF G-48 1 as the Engineer Omcer In 1990 he transferred to the Staf of Commander: Destroyer Squadron twenty-Three as the Materials Officer and later was assigned duties as the Sta,U'Anti-Submarine Warfare Oiicer Zreeraiae We Qemfj? We .feafeemf 6152721725 f' Qdzrfeafcgafaf My LCDR Mee was then assigned in May 1993 to the Surface Warfare Officers School Command, Newport, Rhode Island to serve as an Irtstructor and the Academic Director at the Division Ojjicer Course. Returning to sea duty upon completion of the PXO training pipeline, he reported to USS MONTEREY ICG-611 in July 0fI995 as the Executive Officer LCDR Mee wears the Navy Commendation Medal Cfour awardsl. He is married to the former Irene M. Smith of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 5
