Z-5 . Q 1' n December 20, MONTEREY arrived in Toulon. France for a fourteen day stay alter spending twenty days in the Adriatic Sea. Toulon is the home ofthe French Navy and the sight of many historical events. l.ocatedjust north of Marseille. many ofthe crewmembers enjoyed Paris. Niece and other French Riviera cities. Others crewmembers relished the beautiful architecture and dined on the local cuisine tBlcllonalds ami smash sandwiches were popularl. Many ofthe crew ntember's spouses were able to join Nl0NTlfRlfY in celebrating Christmas and New Years during our stay in Toulon. The Morale. Welfare and Recreation committee hosted a txhristmas and New Years lfve party that was held on the French Naval base. Food. wine. beer und music entertained the crew while they celebrated in the good cheer ol' the holiday spirit.
