DR LUCIEN BAVETTA Almost everyone is failing biochemistry No, we ju t can ' t pass cviTvcinc ' There were things to be said in favor of biochemistry . . . the wit and humor of Dr. Lucien Bavetta (until he got sick) . . . the factual dryness of Dr. Dudley Thomas (until the exam). We were required to memorize little hexagon things in xarious shapes arid forms . . . lugubrious paths to this and that end product . . . cycles of some sort which had apparently nothing to do with the Hell ' s Angels, and regurgitate. We managed to learn about carbohydrates, fats, and proteins . . . we learned to clean glassware and store it! . . . we learned metabolisms, and storage ... we learned about vitamins, essential fatty acids, amino acids (essential and otherwise).
