He thought he had discerned some fugitive symptoms of spinal trouble, and had for some time desired the application of electricity to his spine, but dreaded it. Having at last screwed up his courage to the sticking point, he bared his manly back for the dreaded electric shock. - His brother practitioner, who was of an experimental turn of mind, instead of applying the anode, just ran his thumb along the spine. Under the shock of the supposed electric application, the sufferer leaped from his chair with a yell of agony that brought up a passing policeman to End out what was the matter.
