Its purpose is to have one nucleus organization on each of the campuses of the University to serve as unifying forces. These member chapters gather annually to meet and discuss common problems pertaininq to the students on the various campuses. This year's convention was held in Berkeley. The Medical Center chapter joined UCLA, Berkeley, Davis and Santa Barbara members in attempts to make plans for improvement of intercampus relations. Another activity is the Club's operation of the Maclise Fund which provides finances for members who wish to travel from one campus to another in further- ance of some worthy project, curricular or co-curricular.

ASUCMC The ASUCMC Council has now been in existence for seven years and We are still looking forward to our dream of a Student Union on this campus. The possibility seems brighter now, however, since We saw the proposed plans and were told ground breaking ceremonies will probably be in the spring of 1955. There were various accomplishments on campus this year including a success- ful sale of ASUCMC cards, President Sproul's annual welcoming tea at the Nu Sigma Nu house, Open House at the 610 Parnassus nurses' dormitory, the Christmas Formal at the St. Francis, establishment of an evening class program at San Francisco State College for our students Cmost classes dealing with sports? and the Bacchus Medicalus at the California Country Club. All students registered on the San Francisco Campus are members of the Association in good standing. Associate members are drawn from the profes- sional staff under conditions set by the Executive Council. This Council, formally called the Executive Committee of the Associated Students, is composed offtwelve voting members. The Colleges of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy each send three such representatives to the Council. There are also five ex-officio members, Without voting privileges, drawn from the Dental and Nursing fresh- man classes, from the School of Physical Therapy, from Medical Technology, and from any other curriculum at the Medical Center. The Council receives the general principles of its functions from the Constitu- tion, being the legislative and administrative body of the students' association and, as such, has the final authority in supervising the affairs, policies, conduct, etc., of this Association. lt is responsible for payment of fees and assessments as well as for the expenditure of ASUCMC funds. The Council, in line with this considers all budgets concerned with maintenance oi student activities and has general control over such student interests as are delegated to it by the President of the University or the Deans of the various colleges. Meetings of the Council are held once each month, on the last Wednesday, in the Crummer Room. Members must be notified in advance by mail. These meetings are open to the general student body unless the Council votes unanimously to close them. Polls of any voting done in such closed sessions, however, must be presented to the student body.
