Bob Mmmcplz mjjf The rotating editorship of the Medi-CAL fell this year to the Nursing Student Body. Members of the staff joined up from the Schools of Pharmacy, Dentistry and Medicine. Sales, advertising, copy, snaps, pages, layouts-there seemed to be no end of things to do. Ideas slipped in and out of favor, some to be caught and held by type and binding. Staff sessions Were hash sessions for ideas, techniques and plans of action. All, that is, but the staff banquet which finished the year. Most of the actual book work was done by the separate staffs. Dashing to do bits of Work: conferring to make them fit together. And finally the printer's proofs of copy came back to fit into the layout. J-lt last, the final bit of typed copy and ruled snapshots were on the Way and so was the book. Lim created our cartoon charact . BIS

Ken Bullard, Ruth Hush, lack Quick, Marian Gieqex. Rho Chi Rho Chi is the national honorary society in pharmacy. Its fundamental ob- jective is to promote the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences through the encouragement and recognition of intellectual scholarship. ln 1949, the thirty-third chapter, Alpha Lambda, of Rho Chi was installed at the University of California College of Pharmacy. Since this time approxi- mately lOU students, graduates, faculty, and alumni have qualified for mem- bership in this chapter by means of their scholarly attainment and outstand- ing achievement in pharmacy. The past year's activities centered around two initiation dinners: on Decem- ber l5th ten new members were initiated at a dinner held at Rickey's in Stones- town with Dr. Peter Forsham, Director of the Metabolic Unit on this campus, as guest speaker: on May 7th ten additional members were brought into the local chapter. Student membership consists of fourteen seniors and eight juniors. Officers for the 1953-54 school year Were: lack Quick, president: Leonard Polonsky, vice- presidenip Mollie Chin, secretary-treasurer: and Marian Geiger, historian. Dr. Donald C. Brodie is faculty advisor for the chapter.
