Service on surgical wards includes setting up solutions for intravenous infusion. The babies are the stars oi the nursery service. A newcomer poses for his lirst photo. LORNA AUSTIN, President. Februar 5 uming Claw One year has passed Csiglfil since We last boasted oi our mighty eleven and still we all have held out and have not fallen by the Wayside. We have had IOOCXJ participation in most of our activities and our enthusiasm is a mystery to all who know us. We kept busy most of the year with classes and ward routines along with the NCSNA conven- tion, class council meetings and the Student-Faculty Teas. At Christmastirne We all journeyed to Oakland for dinner prepared by our notorious chef Peg Bowen and for our first year anniversary we celebrated at the McBee's in Richmond. By next year at this time most of us will have at last attained our goal oi a graduate nurse, but till then we must be content with our extracurricular activities to keep us happy, it not healthy. The class of September '52 started the year under the direction of officers: lean Steele, presidentp Mary Lou Hopper, vice-presidentp loAnn Herkner, secretaryg and Donna Adams, treasurer. Not a class to merely study and work we had many activities including a barbecue in Oakland, the lr.-Sr. banquet, and a Christmas party for underprivileged children, complete with Santa Claus. February came and with it the election of new officers: Mary Lou Hopper, presidentp Frankie Barben, vice-pres? dent: Marian Ostermann, secretary, and Dorothy Mac- caqno, treasurer. With the arrival of new freshmen, we became seniors, the wearers of the faded blue. As such we put on a fashion show for all senior nursing students of San Francisco. With another six months left, We still have much ahead of us. Sql emb zf 5 uming Clary

Girls from all over California, Hawaii and other states make up our class which is enthusiastically seeking to learn and enjoy this life. Activities were many and varied. Trying to sell apples isn't the easiest thing to do, especially since money is concerned. It was still fi fruitful venture. Then- the tea and fashion show. Talk of getting a well-known store to show their stock flew about, but we had more fun modeling our own belongings. The final phase of being freshmen included the men- ace to all good grades-finals. And the more pleasant event of a welcome session for the new students. At last, the end of our freshman regime, but we leave it behind with a regretful note, for what an experience it has been!
