Frerbmom Medzkal Clam The Class 'of 1957 had a very successful year in Berkeley, With Dave Costanza, president: Don Adler, social chairman: Carlene Chan, secretaryp and Don Bjorenson, sergeant-at-arms. The members were rather outspoken in their tastes and dislikes. They cheered at Saturday football games, they jeered at lab reports. They welcomed morning coffee breaks but Worried over Anatomy orals. Sallied forth on tennis courts but sweated through research problems. Enjoyed Tilden Park picnics but deplored 8:00 a.m. lectures. Went for noon bridge games but Walled at midterm grades. Claimed a baseball victory over the Stanford fresh- men but cudgeled themselves with Biochem note- books. Soaked up sunshine on Wheeler steps but shrank from impending finals. Thus, with one-fourth of their medical education behind them, the frosh medics are looking forward to a new year on a new campus. Sophomore odicoll Clam lt's been a Greek year for the Sophomore class. The year had barely begun when it was found that ten of our members had lit the torch of Hymen, god of marriage: Demeter, the goddess of the fruitfulness of mankind, smiled down on another group of four. Bacchus was feted in two modified Grecian festivals this year. The first was the annual student-faculty dinner held at a local palace of culinary arts and featured sophoclean discourses by our Venerable instructors. The second occasion was the Cutter Party, held across the bay. This evening was marked by good food, good speeches, and some homemade entertainment on the part of the class. In between the revelry and the marriages and births, Aesculapius, the god of medicine, claimed a goodly share of the class' time and left each of us with an enthusiastic anticipation of next year's Work. is is s is - 55 W , 1 sim EB.
