During the semes- ter a very active social program in- cluded such events as: the Halloween Masquerade Party, Thanksgiving Din- ner, Alumni Party, Cinerama Party, and a Christmas Party given at the Youth Guidance Center. We initiated a new annual event in the form of a Faculty Tea, which we be- lieve will promote better student-faculty relationships. A Grand National Convention was held in Washington, D.C., at which Beta Gamma Chapter was represented by two delegates, Ed Kerns and Merle Bar- tel. Lamb az Kappa Si ma PHARMACEUTICAL S JRORITY Founded at Massachusetts Colleqe of Pharmacy, 1913 Twenty-six Chapters Zeta Chapter Established 1919 Lambda Kappa Sigmas began the yeccr with an informal party to welcome the new women students in pharmacy. A few weeks later we held the pledging ceremonies and the new pledges began to make plans for a cake sale to serve as their fund raising project. To honor these new pledges we held a dinner dance at the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley. With December came the Christmas season and we celebrated by holding a party and exchanging gifts. Another im- portant day' to us was the Hygeia Day honoring the Greek Goddess of Health, Hygeia. On that day this year we saw movies on subjects related to Pharmacy and the other health professions.
