During it's senior year the Class of 1940 suc- cessfully played its role in the activities at the Medical Center. Apart from academic Work, the class although working under limited possibilities, held several social functions of its own, as Well as supporting and participating in the activities of the Student Body and of the Medical Center as a Whole. The class held an ice skating party at Winter- land in the fall semester, and a swimming party in conjunction with the junior class at the Pair- mont Plunge in the spring. The traditional senior day was held April 19th, with a picnic outing, in- . . FRANK NETTELL . HAROLD ANDERSON . LEONARD KOHN . . . MEYER SEGAL . CHARLES LONGINOTTI cluding the usual games and gaiety. Also, the work of the seniors cannot be forgotten with respect to such things as the Bag Game Rally and Bonfire. Teams from the class participated in athletics including football and basketball in interclass competition, and had numerous representatives in the handball, golf, and tennis tournaments. In each case, the efforts and abilities of the partici- pants were not to be overlooked. College days may end here for this group, but there are many memories of college life which will not be lost. Yell Leader . The dominant idea on the part of the Associated Pharmacy Students during the year was the con- tinuation of the drive to unify the colleges of the Medical Center. Through its officers, headed by President Ioseph ,MacDonald the Student Body actively supportedytljie newly formed California Club in its activities and contributed in no small degree to its successful program. Pharmacy stu- dents, especially Vice-President lohn Griffith, played a vital part in the successful completion of the Medical Center. lOSEPH MCICDONALD r . ICHN GRIFFITH . RUTH GRINAGER . EDWARD CHILGREN . CARL KRATZENSTEIN Besides the activities undertaken in conjunction With the other colleges, the Student Body carried on its usual program of social and athletic events. In an attempt to create a more democratic and efficient Student Government a set of amendments to the Constitution was adopted. At the meetings effort was made through the medium of outside speakers to present and discuss the problems pertinent to Pharmacy and Pharmacists. The school year Was closed with a dance given at the Clift Hotel on April 26th.
