Executive Officer Commander Stiling was commis- sioned from Northwestern University in 1942. During World War II he served as the CO. of a sub chaser in an ASW convoy. Following flight training, Commander Stiling had tours as a flight instructor, Opera- tions Officer of VP 3, Operations Plans Officer for Fleet Airwing 14 in Japan and Korea during the Korean War, and a tour with the Pacific Airborne Early Warning Bar- rier. He has attended the Naval War College and the United States Naval Postgraduate School.
