,V Vv,. NOW THAT ' S A FIRE! For the first time in 15 years, UCLA recreates a lost tradition by having a bonfire in front of Jaans Steps, theThursday before the big game. It raged on while students felt the heat not only from the fire but also from the fervor of anticipation of Saturday ' s UCLA use game. In the meantime, a Tommy Trojan effigy is completely swallowed up in the flames.

ivine Kids A Chance c a (D ■ THE POSSUM AND HER POSSE A UCLA student (a.k.a. Possum) and her posse share a moment of bonding. UniCampers were divided into groups headed by a UCLA student counselor. The Possum offered the kids a chance to learn about and appreciate themselves. The posse, in turn, offered their counselor a chance to be a kid again and form bonds between herself and the campers that would never be forgotten. Smiling faces were typical scenes at UniCamp. ■ LOOK INTO MY EYES UCLA UniCamp counselors provided underpriviledged children, like this bright-eyed boy, the affection, security and opportunity to be a kid, even if being a kid entailed getting a scratch or two. H SILENCE IS GOLDEN UniCamp was not always a melange of skits and camp songs, but also a time to relax and spend time with personal thoughts. The hustle and bustle of L.A. was soon forgotten in the serene environment of youth and nature. Chuck Tuffli
