PRESIDENT President- of the University of California, Doctor Robert Cordon Sproul impartially divides his administrative time and interests between the University ' s seven divisions. Staunch in the belief that the University in Southern California will continue to strengthen its services to the people of the State in the fu- ture as in the past, President Robert Cordon Sproul visualizes for the Los Angeles campus an increasingly important place in the society of American universities. When President Sproul took office nine years ago, he announced his pol- icy would be to spend more time in Los Angeles than his predecessors had done in order that he might know more intimately the needs which the University should meet in southern California. Carrying out this policy, he established a home on the Westwood campus in 1936. The Uni- versity of California in all its parts is truly Presi- dent Sproul ' s life career. Eighteen
