FOREWORD ANOTHER page has been completed in the history of the University of California (in Los Angeles). Another year has slipped by and taken its place in the annals of the Grizzly Institution as the greatest that it has ever known. Those who have been affiliated with the Southern Campus and have watched its growth page by page, have endeavored to make the 1924 edition keep pace with the progress of the entire Uni- versity. (In view of the fact that the year 1923-24 has been a great transition period in vhich the totem of the Univers- ity was changed to Grizzly, some of the stories and pic- tures are overlapping. We have tried to make the period of change as definite as possible, and make the write ups apropo to either the old or the new totem). The Editor. Nine
