The annual potato chip sale sponsored by the Chattanooga YWCA has been won by the Tyner Chapter for the last seven years. The council also strives to foster a spirit of cooperation among the students and faculty. It endeavors to maintain a high standard of personal conduct for the school. The Student Council is a practical means by which students may gain experience in govern- ment and leadership. The council was unable to function completely this year because of the split schedule, However, the council officers sponsored a party after the Homecoming Game and a Valentine Party, as well as the Goodwill Clothing Drive. Miss Barbara Ball was honored at a party given by the Student Council after the homecoming game. The Student Council's successful annual Valentine Dance was given the name Sweetheart Swing this year.
