ONTARIO We, the staff of the lklaxaipa 1976, would like to ask you the student body, faculty and staff to stand with us in the dedication of this yearbook: To a man that touches each of our lives: no matter which course we choose, no matter how long we stay. no matter where we go from here. He is here: at freshman registration to hear our unsure attempts at auditioning at Chapels ministering to our hearts after class hours to conduct choirs and small groups with a light heart and a warm smile training us to go out and serve preparing himself to leave us and, with his family, go abroad to minister for Christ in another tongue and culture. In praise to God, in love and appreciation of you: in your talents, in your knowledge. and in your giving of yourself. we dedicate the Maxaipa 1976 to you: MR. DA ID GAST fn.- ,ff- Stewan L. Boehmer It is a joy to send along to our students a word of greet- ing and of praise to God at this exciting time in our his- tory. In fact, never in the 80 long years of our existence have things of such earth-shattering significance occurred. God has been moving mightily in our midst, and to Him we ascribe all the glory. The psalmist declared lt is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto Thy Name, O most high. It will be a simple thing to record the fact that Ontario Bible College moved to its new Campus in the summer of l976, But the accurate account of God's oft-times mys- terious doings in our midst would fill volumes. Now we understand a little better the saying, Our disappointments are His appointments. As we look backward, we can clearly see how wonderfully He has led, even at times when the path seemed so dark. The lesson that we have learned above all others is to cast ourselves upon our great God at all times, even when we cannot see our way, As we had occasion to do so, He did exceeding abundantly above what we asked of even thought. How great is the God we adore! Young people, learn this lesson and cling to it as long as you live. God stands ready to undertake for His child- ren in the big things and in the little things - in corporate affairs, as well as in our individaul problems. Our part is simply to trust Him, He'll do the rest. Great things are before us. How do we know? Because God is with us to save, to keep, to protect. to guide. to provide, to undertake, to bless, and to be exalted in our midst. What more could we ask? Blessed be His Name. and to Him be all the glory! CHANCELLOR The big clock outside my office has iust chimed eleven o'c1ock, And still the pendulum swings, and still the clock ticks on, It is the symbolic hour of nearing the end of time. The Bible speaks a great deal about time. The Preacher talks about a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up, a time to build and a time to break down, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to speak and a time to keep silent. The cycle appears to be endless, were it not for the Lord Jesus Christ Who, in grace, has broken into time to bring meaning and direction to life. Redeem the time, for the days are evil! says Paul. Let time be the special opportunity for God! There is a way in which graduation is like the eleven o'clock chime. With just a brief span of time left, you must work the works of Him Who sends you, Ixlay the words of a graduate of 1912, Dr. Oswald J, Smith, remind us ofthe call to urgent, fervent. loving service for Jesus Christ: ONLY ONE LIFE, 'TWILL SOON BE PAST: ONLY WHAT'S DONE FOR CHRIST WILL LAST. The yearbook has chosen as its theme, Nostalgia. Precious memories will he associated with Spadina Road. We give thanks to God for every memory. The Students' Council will he especially nostalgic reminiscing on years spent at Spadina, while hemoaning the fact that it never entered the promised land of llayview Avenue. Nevertheless, we are thankful for every opportunity of service to the Student Body this year in the name of Christ. It has heen my privilege to serve in helping students to internalive the great purpose of Ontario Bible College. We have shared our concerns. our fears, and our hopes, We pray that our work of faith, our lahour of love, and pa- tience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ and in the sight of God our Father, will not he in vain. To the graduating class of '76 we say to you the words of Peter, as you face the future, gird your minds for action, keep soher in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to he hrought to you at the revelation of Iesus Christ. fl Per. may To those remaining we leave you the words of Paul, Therefore, my heloved hrethren, he steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord. fl Cor. l5:58J As a college community our heritage must not he neglected. Ixlay the words of the college hymn he always in our heart and he emhodied in our aspirations, Here in these halls of learning and devotion. Let mind and heart he taught Thy holy will: Then lead us forth, amid this world's commotion Our high and sacred calling to fulfill. The fall retreat at Keswick Youth Camp was a time for rich blessing. Under the direction of Rev, Bill Moreland the group ex- perienced times of open sharing and genuine ministry from one another.
