Students at Homecoming festivities crowded the streets of downtown Tyler to be part of the excitement of a parade that stretched for blocks. A crowd amassed on the downtown square as Homecoming Queen nominees and their escorts were presented by Student Senate President Wally Brewster. The drama department representatives rode in the luxury of a Rolls Royce to advertise their first production of the year, God's Favorite. That evening TIC met with traditional rival Kilgore College in the classic Homecoming game. The Apaches took a 26-7 revenge to mark the first time TIC has beaten Kilgore since 1976. The victory made the Apaches the leading team in the conference. Delta Upsilon Homecoming nominee Wende Lancaster was crowned Homecoming Queen before one of the largest crowds to watch a TIC game at Rose Stadium in several years.
