one Pride of Tyler Tyler offers much and takes great pride in doing so. The population has grown to more than 75,000. Buildings are springing up all over the Rose City and downtown is experiencing a rebirth with the construction of bank buildings. The spotlight was on Tyler in October during the annual Texas Rose Festival. Also during October Tyler hosted the 1979 East Texas Fair. Bright lights, cotton candy, rides and games all made the fair a happy memory for many TIC students. TIC indeed made a major impact on Tyler. Its high standards of education, athletics, faculty and the popular Apache Bells sparkled in the pride of Tyler.
