The Apache Guard Association went all out to make this year the best ever in the history of Tyler Junior College. At all of the football games and pep rallies, the AGA sat in a group and gave their moral support to the War- riors on the field of battle. The AGA was in charge of the TJC victory bell and took the bell to all of the home football games and even to a couple of the out of town games. Another promotion of the Guard was the now famous Scalp Pole. For every game the Apaches won a new scalp was added to the pole. At the end of the year, twelve scalps on the pole showed the victims of the mighty Apaches. When the Apache football team went to California to play in the Junior Rose Bowl, the Apache Guard was right there. Two busses leased by the Guard were filled with students and adults who made the long trip to California. A tradition was started this year as the Apache Guard sponsored and produced the first annual Tyler Junior Col- lege-Apache Guard Association all-school Rodeo. The Apache Guard Association is the oldest and most outstanding men's organization on campus.
