ROY PAGE . . . 7l07t'Il Sfvonsor The present membership of the Girls' Forum of Tyler consists of four hundred and fifty high school girls and seventy from the junior College. This organization was established November 23, 11131. The idea was conceived by lllrs. lfrnest Goens, president of the Tyler VVoman's Forum at that time, and was first under the leader- ship of llliss Adele Henderson. The Girls' Forum became a member of the Federated Clubs November I, Ifjjl. bliss Elizabeth was the first president of the Forum and lllisses Sunshine Neeley, Nlartha Shuford, and lllary Louise Todd have followed her in the order named. The president of the Tyler XVoman's Forum is the town sponsor of the Girls' Forum. These sponsors have been lllrs. Ernest Goens and lllrs. Roy Page. Faculty sponsors are elected by the members of the Forum and have been llliss Adele Henderson lfor two yearsl, bliss Aileen Grillin, and Bliss Lucia Douglas. i In the Forum there are ten clubs which meet weekly or bi-weekly. The interest in the Club is stimulated by worthwhile educational programs presented every month. lts constitution, written and adopted in Ifjjl, gives the purpose of the organiza- tion: Through congenial activity we aim to foster the development of our better selves in order to become better members of societyf' A spirit of friendliness and cooperation has been developed, eliminating any rivalry which may have previously existed between the various clubs. The executive board, which consists of the ollicers, the sponsor, the committee chairman appointed by the president, and the presidents of the clubs within the Forum, constitutes the business body of the organization. Nlembers of this board are: the oilicers and sponsor listed above, the committee chairman, Lola Lee Roberts, Bernice Gullick, VVynelle Hodges, Frances Connally, ,lane sludge, Betty Ann Faulkner, Dixie Alexander, Klartha Shuford, and lllary Leach. The club presidents from the College are: Literary TVorkshop, llary Ethel Bakerg VV. A. A., lllelba Brooksg A. K. K., lllary Ethel Baker.
