PIRATES SLASH COMMANDOES The Class AA championship as- sured, the Bucs went to Henderson- ville to meet the Commandoes. The Pirates ran up their highest score of any game in their history. A 47 - 13 win gave an impressive ending to the 1965 season. Two touchdown passes by senior Roger Byers and an interception by Wright accounted for 3 touchdowns while Maxwell passed for 3 more T.D.'s. The Pirates, after their showing against Hendersonville, ac - cepted the invitation to play B.G.A. in the Metro Bowl.

PIRATES CLOBBER YANKEES The Bucs with a 4-1 league rec- ord came up next against the Yankees from North High School. The bal- anced Pirate offense showed its strength ongge more, while the defense led by Locke and Reeves, held the Yankees to only twelve points. A pass and a short run in the first quarter put the Bucs ahead. Three more runs and another pass play late in the game gave the Bucs their fifth league win, 38-12. STRATFORD SLIPS BY BUCS Two Rivers, with a commendable record of six wins to only one loss, was fired-up to meet its oldest rival. Stratford. The Bucs, weakened by the injury of their kicking special- ist, Dwight Cauthen, played hard but the Spartans slipped by with a 13-12 win. Both Stratford and T.R. scored early in the second quarter, and Stratford again late in the second, to give the Spartans at half al3-6 lead. The Bucs came back strong in the third and charged for 6 but the point-after attempt failed. In the fourth quarter, neither team could score so the Bucs fell to their AAAA rival 13-12.

BUCS TIE IN METRO BOWL After finishing the season with a record of eight wins and two losses, the Bucs took on a strong team from Battle Ground Academy. At half, the score was '7-'7, but in the third, B.G.A. pulled ahead 14-7. There were on1y3 minutes left in the game when a 6 yard run by Callis tied the score. The 14-14 tie marked the end of a great Pirate season. The final record of 8 wins, 2 losses, and 1 tie would be a splendid performance for any squad. Managers Clark Shaw Doug Henry Maurice Smith
