Future Nurses Future Nurses is a newly formed club. Sponsoredby Mrs. Cobb, members meet each second and fourth Wednesday. Their main purp o s e is to become ac- quainted with the nu r s i n g profession. Through study and hard work, they hope to meet the requirements that would en- able them to be a member of the Future Nurses Club of America. Audio Visual Club This, as yet, little known club performs avaluable service tothe school. Under the leadership of Mrs. Brooks, this new club has rapidly assumed a place of re- sponsibility in the operation and upkeep of theschool' s audio visual equipment. A total of twenty-two students has met regularly on the first and third Thursday of the month to watch m ov i e s , learn new tech- niques in operation of equipment and hear special talks given by professional men. One can see that this is an extremely active club to be so yotmg and it is hoped that it will continue to grow, both in membership and service to the school. Allen Hancock Industrial Arts Club The Industrial Arts Club holds as its purpose the improve- ment of shop techniques and prac- tices. One of its projects is the establishment of a graphic arts shop. P e r h ap s relatively little known, this club is striving for quality, both in work and workers. Under t h e direction of Mr. Smith, the s h o p instructor and technical drawing teacher, this club meets after school in the shop ev e r y second and fourth Thurs- day. Fine Arts Guild The Fine Arts Guild, sponsored by Mr. Hollingsworth, meets every second and fourth Wednesday of each month in the art room. The members are hoping to widen and expand the general public's appreciation of art by e x h i b it i n g a variety of art media. Their many planned activities consist of sev- eral art exhibits, posters for various activ- ities, displays, and seasonal field trips. During the month of December the Arts Guild was responsible for the painting of a huge nativity scene on the windows above the front entrance to the school. Painted directly on the glass, brushes were used to apply fin- ger paint. The style was interpretive of a stained glass window and brought much en- joyment to v i ew e r s during the Christmas season. The officers of this club are: Lynn Burkett .............
