TWO RIVERS TIPS PANTHERS-14-6 4 Two Rivers tooka 14-6 victory from Maplewood on a muddy and foggy Maple- wood field. The Pirates scored early in the game when tackle Tommy Fullington picked up a blocked Panther punt and rambled into the end zone. Dwight Cauthen added the extra point. This score stood until the last play of the first half when Maplewood picked off a Pirate aerial and ran it in for the score. The extra point attempt was blocked by Fuzz Wheeler and Two Rivers carried a 7-6 lead into half- time. In the second half, the only score was a sustained ground march by the Pirates. Dicky Dixon scored on a quar- terback sneak and Dwight Cauthen again kicked the extra point. Two Rivers remained un- beaten by edging Dupont 12-6 ina Class AA NIL battle. After building up a 12-0 lead on touchdowns by Dicky Dixon and Kenny Callis, a bulwark de- fensive line withheld the on- rushing Dupont forces. Stratford drew first blood on a 1 yard scoring plunge by Mike Jones but in the second half TR roared back to score 6 points on a 12 yard pass from Dixon to end Neal McNish.
