Q THE CUTLASS Two Rivers High School Nashville, Tennessee 4 FOREWORD Aware that the location of our school is uniquely related to the history of Middle Tennessee, we are pleased to share with the reader the story of Two Rivers Farm and photographs of the McGavock home to which our campus is adjoined. The present owner, Mrs. Spence McGavock, most graciously consented for photographs to be taken of her lovely home. These photographs indeed lend a note of distinction to THE CUTLASS. In this book members of THE CUTLASS staff have attempted to capture in pictures and in prose the excitement of the last in a series of firsts--the first graduating class of Two Rivers High School. The staff presents to the Class of 1965 this record of an unforgettable year. 2 1 y -W f K . The house and lands were inherited by Mrs. David H. McGavock, his daugher, and they have since remained in the McGavock family. , I Each brick and stone in the house was quarried by the McGavock slaves, the tim- ber was cut and prepared at the sawmill on the estate. Much of the furniture in the home was imported from England and France. Oriental rugs and ancestral por- traits grace the four downstairs parlors and in the entrance foyer two interesting chairs once owned by Rudolph Valentino are found. To step into this beautiful home is to step from the harshness and reality of today into the cool harmony and tran- quillity of yesterday. The original two-story home, built in 1802, still stands in perfect condition on the property. The mansion house, built in 1859, is saidto have been planned by the architect, William Strickland. During the Civil War the home narrowly escaped destruction by Federal forces. 1 In the fall of 1960 a new school was opened in the Donelson area. Located on McGavock Pike, the school was situated only one hundred yards from the meeting of the Stones and the Cumberland Rivers. The campus site had once been part of the McGavock Estate, often called Two Rivers Plantation. It was because of these influences that the school received its name. Mr. Chester LaFever, principal, was joined by twelve teachers, a librarian, and a secretary that first year. Starting with only the seventh and eighth grades, the school has added a grade each year. Inthe fall of 1964 the final grade was included. The presence of the first graduating class is indeed a milestone in Two Rivers history. The school enrollment has grown from four hundred and twenty in 1960 to thirteen hundred and fifty students in 1965. English IV, French II, Sociology, Physics, American Government and Economics, and Speech were added this year and most likely, there will be other interesting curricular offerings in the near future. The rapid growth of the student body has necessitated the building of new classrooms, a girls' gym, an industrial arts room, a band room, and a stadium. The students at Two Rivers have seen the school grow from ajunior high school into a full-fledged high school. Their pride has increased from year to year in a school whose future development promises even greater achievement. 6 , i gf' In any school the force that holds the student body together is that of school spirit, and the spirit of Pirate rooters reflects their pride in the general successes of Two Rivers High as well as in the achievements of the athletic teams. Both the cheerleading squad and the student body have done much to en- courage a more enthusiastic spirit. Re- member the many fine pep meetings held during the year? Building pride in a school is an unfinished job because there are al- ways new areas in which the students may excel New doors of opportunity for ex- ploration are constantly opening for Two Rivers students f3om,.,.f,w 835539 mul. The underclassmen moveda year closer to their goal of being upper- classmen While the envied sophomores, juniors, and seniors began to realize the seriousness of planning for their future. Throughout the school the atmosphere was one of increased interest in learning and for many came the realization that education is the key that can open doors to a brighter and more fulfilling life. To many students the social activities sponsored by various organizations of the school pro- vided an introduction to the mys- teries of social graces. Juniors and seniors anxiously awaited the first Junior-Senior Prom while remembering the work and plan- ning that had contributed to the success of the first Junior Prom a year before. it Outstanding at Two Rivers is the spirit of C h r i s t m a s giving. Each year every homeroom spon- sors a money-raising campaign to buy toys for a child helped by the welfare program. For each student at Two Rivers, Christmas is happier because he gives as well as receives. Two Rivers' Buccaneer Band was spot- lighted even more in '65 when it captured several trophies and when several members received superior ratings at festivals. Drum Major Larry Apple led the band members in intricate manuevers which entertained spec- tators at ball games and the leadership of Director Kenton Hull continued to stimulate increased achievement bv the band. It is the purpose of the Guidance Depart- ment to help students make the most of them- selves. Many services are offered, including the provision of information - about courses, requirements for graduation, further train- ing, colleges, scholarships, and kinds of jobs. Also available here are the services of per- sonal counseling, of testing to discover in- dividual skills and abilities, and of making application for higher education or employ- ment. The hope of the Guidance Department is that students may be helped to reach the many important decisions that must be made during high school years. Inthe fall of 1964 Two Rivers students welcomed four- teen new teachers including an exchange teacher from England. Physics, Sociology, French II, American Govern- ment and Economics, and English IV, subjects which had never before been offered at Two Rivers, provided formidable challenges to seniors. Some hardy girls braved Home Ec- onomics while many boys enjoyed Mechanical Drawing and Shop. For many, the study of Art opened a new world of beauty, and appreciation for fine music was found by many students in Music. For underclassmen the problems of Math and Science were as baffling as they had been for countless students be- fore them. J W mu 'S To every student at Two Rivers High, 1965, r ep r e s e nting harder subjects and more work, offered greater pride in his achievements. The principles of representative govern- ment are upheld at Two Rivers by the Student Council. Comprised of representatives from each homeroom, the Student Council studies school-related problems and offers solutions. Mrs. Rob McGee, sponsor, provides capable leadership and helps in making decisions. Each student at Two Rivers realizes that through his homeroom representative he has a direct voice in the administration of the school. He knows that any suggestion he offers will be considered. Anything from bent silverware to senior privileges may come before the Council. The Student Council encourages good citizen- ship in the school by holding elections each spring for the offices of student leadership. The use of voting machines instills the re- sponsibility of voting in each student. X Each year at Christmas the Student Council initiates a school-wide project to aid underpriviledged children. Later in the year an entertaining talent show is sponsored by the Student Council. A handbook to help all students orientate themselves to high school life was published in 1964 and proved to be an invaluable aid to many seventh graders. The primary concern of the Student Council is to promote those activities which will ma.ke Two Rivers a better school. All of its efforts are directed toward this end. I2 The principles of good c it 1 z e n s h ip and sportsmanship are stressed at Two Rivers in the classroom and on the football field and bas- ketball floor The participants in athletic events are encouraged to practice good sportsmanship in victory and in defeat Student spectators at as athletic events are expected to act as responsible 5 Each month at Two Rivers a Citizen of the Month Award is given to a student who has dis- played outstanding work in some area during the month. Nominated by homerooms and selected by a Citizenship Committee, the student displays the qualities of good citizenship. The selection of a Citizen of the Year culminates a year of practicing good citizenship. . , ts, ' TEES Q , ,-5, s .L LQ-zu. gi' alll' This group of men and women, shown above with Mr. LaFever and Mr. Harris, comprised the committee which conducted the evaluation of Two Rivers in November. H. nm-is This letter announces the acceptance of Two Rivers High School as a member of the South- ern Association of Colleges and School. To the graduating seniors, the years at Two Rivers High School have been educational, active, and fun-filled. The seniors have learned to cope with pressing problems by arriving at solutions themselves or by seeking qualified help. They have learned to accept responsibility by filling posi- tions of leadership and by working to promote school functions. They have learned that one may gain greater pride in himself from harder work--both scholastically and athletically. They have known the fun of dating, attending parties, and just running around. They have experienced the fun that keen competition can bring by participating in intramural and interscholastic sports. The seniors of Two Rivers High School have learned the principles of truth, honesty, courage, and decency which will serve to make them bet- ter men and women. vs DEDICATION We, the 1965 Cutlass Staff, wish to dedicate this, the first senior yearbook of Two Rivers, to two outstanding members of the faculty. Both have gained the respect, the admiration, and the affection of the students through the inspiration they have given us in class and through the guidance they have provided in so many areas. The seniors, especially, feel that they have benefitted from the wisdom and patience of these fine teachers. It is with much pride and appreciation that we dedi- cate the 1965 Cutlass to Mrs. John Lovegrove and Mr. J. Wilson Bates. Since her arrival at Two Rivers in 1962, Mrs. Lovegrove has become an integral part of the school. She was immediately recognized as an outstandingly intelligent person who was willing to share her knowledge with the students. Due to the obvious interest she takes in the subject andthe student, Mrs. Lovegrove's classes are far from dull. She attempts to stimulate in each student an interest in literature and effective writing. Her wide range of knowledge has allowed her to teach classes in English lit e r atu r e , American literature, English grammar, American history, and sociology. Serving with Mr. Bates as co-sponsor of last year's Junior Class, Mrs. L o v e g r o v e worked determinedly to make the 1964 Junior Prom a success. Having served for the past three years as the faculty advisor to the Cutlass Staff, she has continually supplied ideas and valuable suggestions to improve the book. . Q ffl fi, if is ,N 5 Avi ll EQ Mr. Bates has been apart of Two Rivers since 1961. Since that time he has continued to astound students with his incredible knowledge of algebra, geometry, chemistry, and physics. ln 1962, he was honored by being selected to study at Oak Ridge with eminent scientists. In addition to his high intellect, Mr. Bates has an impish sense of humor and an unbelievably even te mpe r . His Always, always, always has become well-known to students of algebraic equations and chemical re-actions. Q53 fliia if ,uw 4. Serving last year as a Junior Class co-sponsor, he was instrumental inthe selection of senior rings. He has been even more helpful while serving as Senior Class sponsor this year. Mr. Bates also sponsors the Beta Club and the Math Club, in which activities he shows a special interest in each student. Any student who has been fortunate enough to come under the influence of either Mrs. Lovegrove or Mr. Bates has surely felt the special quality that these memorable teachers bring to the class- room. ADM NI TRAT o The members of the faculty have con- tributed greatly to the academic and personal d e v e 1 o p m e n t of Two Rivers students. Through continued guidance in class and extra-curricular activities, teachers have imparteda strong sense of duty to the mem- bers of the student body. ii , f f1 'f' ' 1 P 1 , , ,. 4, N 1 , , ,Z WW , 5 ? ,QQ- .,- , ' A U' jk K ggi M ff' 1 n 7 Q i ' i E ., 1 Q , 3 3 r . ,. ,Z W.., . fsywfg- fg .1 gf 3 7 is 1 M 'Q 'Q rw WMM, .. Mr. La- Fever has been a dedicated and hard-working pro- motor of Two Rivers from its beginning five years ago. Having been a teacher himself, he well under- stands the problems of the faculty members as well as those of the students. His counsel and help in many areas to Two Rivers students have been most effective. The graduating seniors wish to express their special appreciation for Mr. LaFever's lead- ership during their years in high school. Undoubtedly, the office is the hub of activities at Two Rivers. It is from this major spot that the decision affecting school life are made. At all hours of the school day students, teachers, andparents may be seen entering its doors. Because the school is administered so efficiently, Mr. La Fever, Mr. Harris, and Mrs. Davis deserve our sincere praise. Mr. William Harris has indeed been an asset to Two Rivers since his arrival in 1963. All students are aware that his supervision of the lunch pro- gram has resulted in quieter and better organized lunch periods. Perhaps many do not know that it was Mr. Harris who most capably planned and super- vised the arrangements for the Southern Association evaluation. The smooth- ness of that week that all students and teachers remember added much to the general impression made upon the visiting committee members. iisv wwf' Certainly one of the best-known people at Two Rivers is Mrs. Richard S. Davis who performs her duties as school sec- retary efficiently and industriously. Teachers and students alike have found her dependable, co-operative, and always ready to help. Throughout the day Mrs. Davis remains good-natured and calm in every crisis amid much confusion involving students, teachers, administrative officials, and visitors. 21 Chester A. LaFever B.A., M.A. Principal William T. Harris B.S., M.A. Assistant Principal To the teachers who have taught at Two Rivers since its beginning go very special thanks from the Senior Class. Through the knowledge and counsel which they have imparted to us, they have been instrumental in our development from early adolescence toward young adulthood. Without their presence, these years at Two Rivers High School would not have been nearly so en- joyable and enlightening. .KN ,J E R ROW 1: Mrs.Jones, Mrs. McGee. ROW II: Mr. LaFever, Mr. Smith, and Mr. Russell. The faculty members of Two Rivers realize that the teaching profession involves more than in- structing students in readin', 'ritin', and 'rith- metic. Many serve as sponsors of clubs, and all teachers find that they must cope with the problems of high school students. Each year several student teachers from Vanderbilt, Peabody, and Middle Tennessee State come to Two Rivers for practice teaching. The chorus under Mr. Merriwether's direction has given many fine programs to the students and several individual members have gained recognition for the school this year by receiving su- perior ratings in chorus festivals. The Buccaneer Band and Mr. Hull have worked very hard to provide fine halftime shows at all the football games and to perform more serious music at school concerts. 29 OCATIONAL EDUCATIO BUSINESS we 'KA 'ew' Helen Knight, 13.A., M.A. Typ ing, Bookkeeping Geraldine McCarter, B.S. Scotty Daniels SENIOR 1965 was a year of madras and merriment, weejuns and wonderful times. Favorite hangouts for seniors included Pirates' Cove where the Jerk and the Monkey were danced by the more agile members of the class. The excitement of an election year was brought to Two Rivers when the government classes sponsored a mock election. Most seniors have memories of twenty minute lunch periods Qno wonder so many of them lost weightll, confused reminders of MACBETH and VANITY FAIR, and exciting thoughts of the triumph in the Jaycee Bowl. The realization that this was the last year of high school was a sobering thought to all sen- iors. Many decisions about the future had to be made: What college should one attend? What career should one pursue? Although these questions cannot be answered immediately, the first graduating class of Two Rivers High School feels that its members are well able to face the challenges life offers them. 34 JE NEILL ANDERSON, JR. rary Staff lg Science Club lg sident l. The clanging of the gong announced each ar- rival as the couples crossed the bridge leading onto the dance floor. A hugh gold Buddha pre- sided over the scene, adding yet another touch of the Orient to the Prom. An enormous parachute hanging from the ceiling and reflecting the dim- med lighting lent a spectral effect. Also, the plam trees and Japanese lanterns seemed to bring the world of Shangri-la into Two Rivers gymnasi- um as the students gathered for refreshments and quiet conversation. The Junior Prom was truly a night for the graduating Seniors to remember! 76 Ng . , 2 The work and preparation that went into the Prom assured it of its success. Surely every- one remembers the bake sales and car washes held on Saturdays and the daily penny contri- butions by class members. Each student who had helped with the decorations, refreshments, or planning felt that his efforts had contributed to making the first Junior Prom a most beauti- ful evening. as determined by their grade averages. The efforts of the Two Rivers Beta Club members were successful in having Dicky Dixon elected State Beta Club President. Dicky is one of the most active stu- dents at Two Rivers High. An all around athlete, he has participated in almost every phase of the athletic program at Two Rivers. His scholastic record is one of the finest of the Senior Class. Dicky is an example of the dedication and hard work that are required in becoming an outstanding high school student. Bo s' State epresentative Larry Woodson, one of Two Rivers' most outstand- ing students, was elected by the faculty to attend Boys' State as the Two Rivers representative. Boys' State, a gathering of boys from high schools all over the state, was held last June at Castle Heights Military Academy. The boys are divided into groups of representatives from cities and counties and are instructed in the work- ings of state, county and local governments. During his stay at Boys' State, Larry was elected Justice of the Peace and Political Party chairman for his county and he was appointed to the Governor's Cabinet. 86 we SENIORS REMEMBER . After four long years of hard work, dreams of victory finally became reality. It takes something specialto make a good football team . . . good men . . . a will to try . . . good coaches . . . and goodleaders. This year we had those things. Our boys wanted to win, and they were Willing to work for it. They were rough, and they were ready . . . they were eager to show the other teams just how rough and ready they were. The Pirates had an excellent season, and the student body is truly proud of them. Long weeks of pre-season practice proved successful as a potent Pirate offense gained 393 yards rushing, and a stout defensive line anchored by Larry Woodson and Tommy Locke held the Blue Devils to only short yardage. Paul Baird scored two touchdowns and gained 155 yards rushing in eight carries. Larry Von Boeckman, Dicky Dixon, and Neal McNish ac- counted for the other T. R. touchdowns. 122 TWO RIVERS DOWNS CUMBERLAND Two Rivers took its first big test of the sea- son by defeating Cumberland 21-0. The tone of the game was set when the Pirates' defense stiffened to stop the Indians on our 15 yard line after fumbling the opening kick-off. The Pirates scored twice on long drives with Dicky Dixon and Jerry Wright's scoring the touchdowns. Larry Von Boeckman grabbed an errant Indian pass and raced all the way for the score. The un- scored-on Two Rivers defense did a great job of containing the fleet Cumberland backs. Es- pecially effective were ends Neal McNish and Larry Von Boeckman and linebackers Tommy Locke and Whit Adamson. The Pirates exploded for 23 second half points, with quarterback Dicky Dixon and halibacks Ricky Aiken and Joe Cathey scoring touchdowns. 124 TWO RIVERS ASTOUNDS DONELSON-7-6 The unbeaten Pirates won their biggest game of the season by defeating Big Nine rival, Donelson, 7-6. A crowd of 6500 spectators witnessed the birth of an annual gridiron classic between the neighboring Donelson schools. Two Rivers kicked off and immediately thwarted the Donelson offense, forcing a punt. Then the Pirates ex- tended their streak of first quarter scoring when adrive was capped with .a nine yard touchdown pass from Dicky Dixon to Larry Von Boeckman. Dwight Cawthen converted to make the score 7-0. Donelson got its score on a two yard plunge by Johnny Kyle in the second period after a Pirate fumble had given the Dons the ball. But Fred Wheeler broke through to block the extra point attempt and Two Rivers took a 7-6 lead into the locker room at half -time. In the third quarter neither team posed a serious scoring threat. In the final period the Pirates moved the ball all the way to the Donelson two yard line before the drive was stopped by a fumble. A last minute Donelson rally proved unsuccessful as Two Rivers won its biggest victory in the school's short history. R25 TWO RIVERS TIPS PANTHERS-14-6 4 Two Rivers tooka 14-6 victory from Maplewood on a muddy and foggy Maple- wood field. The Pirates scored early in the game when tackle Tommy Fullington picked up a blocked Panther punt and rambled into the end zone. Dwight Cauthen added the extra point. This score stood until the last play of the first half when Maplewood picked off a Pirate aerial and ran it in for the score. The extra point attempt was blocked by Fuzz Wheeler and Two Rivers carried a 7-6 lead into half- time. In the second half, the only score was a sustained ground march by the Pirates. Dicky Dixon scored on a quar- terback sneak and Dwight Cauthen again kicked the extra point. Two Rivers remained un- beaten by edging Dupont 12-6 ina Class AA NIL battle. After building up a 12-0 lead on touchdowns by Dicky Dixon and Kenny Callis, a bulwark de- fensive line withheld the on- rushing Dupont forces. Ricky Aikenpaced TwoRivers' rush- ing attack with 104 yards in 18 carries, while Callis scamp- ered for 92 in 18 tries. TWO RIVERS EDGES DUPONT-12-6 A ' W H1 iiffis, 5. They soon realized that it was a year of more difficult subjects and added responsibilities. Such subjects as geometry and biology caused some consternation early in the year, but soon sophomores were dissecting frogs and proving theorems--some even found SILAS MARNER enjoyable. Several far-sighted sophomores began looking toward college, and their scores from the N. E.D. T. provided some foresight into their college plans. Several sophomore boys played football while others participated in basketball, baseball, and track. The sophomore class provided four enthusiastic cheerleaders and three attrac- tive majorettes. Sophomores made up the membership of several clubs and proved to be willing workers. The sophomores' social life broadened considerably: to many, dating became a regular part of their lives, parties became more numerous, and more activities became their own. The sophomore year was filled with fun, study, and many memorable experiences. It Was left with regret, and the junior year was looked forward to with antici- pation. 164 President: .... . . Linda Darrah FRE HME The Freshman Class, some two hundred and thirteen strong, made its presence known to the other classes of Two Rivers High School by participating in athletics and by leading the seventh and eighth grades in several clubs. Studying almost completely different sub- ject matter from that of their eighth grade classes, confused freshmen soon adjusted to the rigors of Algebra I and General Science. The halls were filled with their saying, Amo, amas, amat, and Z, Como estausted? These phrases revealed the efforts of some hardy freshmen in learning a new languageg still others were struggling with verbals in English. While reading GREAT EXPECTATIONS, freshmen were looking with just that to the time when they would be sophomores. 172 Vic Adamson Rad Akridge Paul Allen Sherrye Allen Aimee Alsup Cathee Alsup Craig Alsup Pat Arnold Jennifer Angel Linda Ayers Beth Baird Rebecca Baird Eddie Baker Jerry Barnes Jimmy Bates Bob Beard Steve Belcher Charles Benderman Mike Bowen Delia Bragg Barbara Brown Brenda Brown Dickie Brown Nancy Brown Randy Brurnmett Billy Buchanan Barry Burnette Connie Cagle Jerry Callis Sherry Cannon . Eighth graders had become accustomed to the confusing world of high school which to them as seventh graders had appeared as a mass of people and amaze of halls. Feeling themselves superior to seventh graders, they truly made the most of their position of authority. Their time was filled with such activities as studying math and English and acting in plays in speech. With a year of experience behind them, eighth graders cheered even more enthusiastically at pep rallies. Several eighth graders played in the varsity band, and many boys participated in the junior high sports program. After the year was over, eighth graders were older, more responsible, and wiser. They were indeed ready to accept the status of freshmen. 182 Frank Abbott Randall Abbott David Adkisson Jimmy Adkisson Jimmy Allen Kathy Allen Kerry Allen Patsy Allen Rick Allen Steve Anderson Janet Anglea Ralph Anzengruber Dale Apple Patricia Ashburn Carol Austin Scotty Avera Kathy Barfield Terry Barnes Roger Baskette Steve Beale Ronnie Bean Shirley Bean John Beasley Jan Bellar Patti Best Kathy Binns Bobby Boone Diane Bowen Eddie Boyd George Boyd Ann Bradley Patricia Bragg Herbert Bratcher Mary Brehm Carol Brooks Gary Brothers Cheryl Brown David Brown Doug Brown Margie Brown Marshall Brown Wayne Bruce J f I I ff X It W ' -'.- t I ,..' 1 , . f M , ' V ,'-'- fa- ' .,:- ., wif N' . C athy Elliott EVE TH GRADER Timid, frightened, and eager, two hundred and forty-two students entered TRHS in September, 1964, forming the seventh grade class of 1965. Most of the new students did not know what to expect of high school. Havingleft the sixth grade wherethey had been the oldest, they were now resigned to the role of the youngest among some thirteen hundred students. There were many adjustments to be made - for a time even the ringing of the bell confused the seventh graders. Unwilling to be late to class, seventh graders were observed running madly down the halls, eliminating every obstacle Ceven seniors! D. Their school spirit and enthusiasmfor sports served to encourage less interested upperclassmen. Seventh graders made themselves known to other students by throwing bags of confetti at ball games. By June, seventh graders were relieved that their first year was over. Excited about their coming eighth gradeyear, they looked forward to enjoying aposition of authority over the timid, frightened, and eager seventh graders who would enter in the fall. 190 Louis Abbott Kathy Adams Shelia Adcox Michelle Alderman Sandra Allgood Cynthia Anderson Pam Anderson Tim Anderson Dwayne Angel Buddy Atkins Sharon Ayers Sherry Baskin Charles Battenslag Mary Ann Beale Connie Beard Mary Beasley Sandra Beasley Debbie Beckham Betty Belcher Linda Black Donna Blankenship Bruce Bowman Jane Brooks Kevin Brown Harriet Bruce Jodie Bryan Ricky Burnett Steve Burnett Vickie Burnette Jamie Burrow Janis Buuck Larry Campbell Sandra Campbell John Candless Gerald Cantrell Jessie Carter Debbie Cartwright Debbie Cathey Ellen Cauthen Tony Cavitt Debbie Clark Lisa Clark 451514 Z f ., an E V M , xx' . H1719 Gr-r-reat fffftffwf 2:33103 1964-65 ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS As editor of the 1965 CUTLASS, I would like to express my thanks to the following people: to Mrs. Spence McGavock, who so graciously allowed us to make photographs at her home, Two Rivers Farm to Mr. Bob Hollingsworth, who helped us with art work and design to Mr. John Hood, who made the photographs of the underclassmen and who returned on schedule during the year to make so many of the photographs used in the book to Mr. Irving Smith and Mr. Garland Russell who helped us by making photographs we had forgotten to Fabry's Studio, that made our senior and faculty pictures to Mr. J. B. McEntire, who advised us in our decisions about the cover and who gave us other help as our Delmar representative to Mrs. C. A. Chadwell, who allowed us the use of her home in our pictures to Mr. Alvin Kennedy who at the post office found a cheaper way for us to mail our material to Delmar to Mr. LaFever and Mr. Harris, who cooperated with us in every way to Mrs. Davis, who excused staff members to work on the annual and who looked after our money to the faculty members, who permitted us to use class time to meet deadlines and who excused students for photographs to Mrs. Lovegrove, who, as our sponsor, has helped us in so many ways with her ad- vice and her willingness to work to the staff members, who willingly came to work on weekends and after school, and without whose hard work this book would not have been possible Scotty Daniels Editor Wjgiif bww?
