and become outstanding students Glen Broadwater For the year 1973, Mr. Reasor chose four out- standing members of the Senior class. These students were Irana Scott, Joy Walsh, Glen Broadwater and Darrell Meade. Darrell Meade Mr. Reasor selected these students on the basis of their leadership ability and the good school citizen- ship they have shown.

Tomorrow ' s politicians get smart today Would you believe Glen Broadwater thinks he will be a future congressman of Virginia, but everyone knows Darrell Meade has the brains for it. | Boys’ State and Girls’ State is a program designed to familiarize students with the government of Virginia. Those who attended had a hectic week filled with speeches, elec- tions, sports, and other activities. Each Boy Stater and Girl Stater became a member of a city in which they were either elected or appointed to an office. The cities elected one Senator and two Dele- gates to attend the General Assembly. There was also a convention held to elect Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General. Boys’ State was held at William and Mary College from June 18-26 and Girls’ State was at Radford College from June 11-17. The Rep- resentatives from our high school were sponsor- ed by the Twin Springs P.T.A. It’s kind of hard to imagine Irana Scott and Joy Walsh taking part in our government.
