rownmg of the queen Finally the night of the big game came. Spirit reached a peak and exploded when Twin Lakes beat North Newton with a score of 31 to 0. Halftime was the highlight of the victory. Amid the cheers of the crowd the winners of the float contest were announced. A Dream Comes True in Spirit, created by the sophomore class, was awarded first place. The jun- iors with The Big Red Machine received second. The queen and her court pro- vided a rustic setting in their au- tumn colored suits and flowers. Trina Murray, who was escorted by Terry Iones, reigned as Home- coming Queen. Senior candidates on her court were: Marty Bridge, escorted by Alan Sicklerg Diana Roth, whose escort was Ieff Stine, Kathy Rubeck, escorted by Ed Fishery and Emily Wilson, es- corted by Bruce Sweet. Iunior princess Debbie Brown was escorted by Brad Adams and Phil Iones escorted Abbie Tag, sophomore princess. 33

VVhere is it hidden? In the barn west of the school. Sh-sh- sh. Here comes a junior! What was the subject of this conversation? Hidden floats for Homecoming of course! Competition proved to be a strong force throughout the week. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors slaved more than thirty hours apiece on their floats. Up to live thousand paper tissue flowers were stuffed into chicken wire.
