In most rac- ing events, speed makes the difference be- tween a win, a tie, or a loss. ln cross-coun- try running. endurance is the determining factor. Under the guidance of Coach Gary Sparks, the team represented Twin Lakes in several tournaments and achieved a vic- tory over Forest Hill in one of the few dual meets they played. The average distance in a race is 2116 miles. It takes a very dedidated runner, be- cause they have to run 6 to 12 miles a day in training. Rain, nor sleet, nor snow . . . ...Q

Vczrsit Cheerleaders Under the able direction of Captain Debra LeBlanc and Co-captain Saundra Lawson and the sponsorship of Miss King, this has been a year full of hard work and exciting memories. The Cheerleaders of 71-72 have shown great enthusiasm and provided the spirit needed to keep the foot- ball and basketball teams on the go. During the summer months the Cheer- leaders can be found at Cheering Camp im- proving their style and learning new cheers.
