Choirs The Choirs, under the direction of Miss Virginian Carpenter. contribute a significant part of the peace and unity in the school by trying to achieve brotherhood through the mutual experience of singing. The choirs have at least two performances a month for school activities, churches and l civil organizations. and end the year with a I I benefit production. - I T Mixed and Girls' Choirs sing various , A types of music through the year, such as patriotic, spiritual, sacred and popular. They raise money for robes, music, and - props by having bake sales, a soul food fs feast, a bazaar, a mini fair, and a dime on the line. The Contemporaries is a music group specializing in popular and patriotic music with added choreography. Consisting of ten girls and ten boys. they are chosen for stage expression and voice quality. Rh thm hozlr The Rhythm Choir is also a special group hut it uses symbolic movements and facial expression rather than words to con- vey the feelings of songs and poems. A great deal of time, effort and cooperation goes into the choreography and preparation of a performance by the Rhythm Choir. This year for the first time Miss Carpen- ter and Mr. Mucci have organized an honor society for music students who have ex- celled.
