'Hiatonq In the opening week of September l954, eighty-five frightened, awe-stricken fresh- men, the lower strata of high school society, gathered for the first time at Twin City High School. in time they gained enough prestige to become the present senior class, the class of 1958. That first year, filled with innumerable new experiences and activities, Jerry Sande, Virginia Hansen, Roger Floe, and Mike Lerom were the elected leaders and planners. After a delightful orientation activity known as the Soph-Frosh Party, held by the sopho- mores for the incoming frosh, they sponsored a mixer, and finally a return party for the sophomores. Mrs. Kirk and Mr. Van Gasken ably assisted and guided this freshmen class of 1954. As sophomores these semi-studious scholars established a name for themselves With the guidance of their advisers, Mr. Scodeller, Mr. Conley, and Mr. Van Gasken, and under the leadership of their officers, Virginia Hansen, Jerry Sande, Judy Lance, and Ardith Jensen, this industrious group planned and held the first homecoming dance in many years. In addition to the highly successful Coronation Ball, they held a Frosh-Soph party for the incoming freshmen. Some members even found time to increase the financial assets of the class by selling coke and candy at home ball games. During the iunior year the main activities were: a Junior Prom, Stairway to the Stars, their Junior-Senior Banquet, Plantation Party, and unathorized excursion to Vancouver B. C.-for this they paid dearly. Advisers during their third year in Twin City High were Mrs. McCormick and Mr. Conley. Both were wonderful counselors in moments of need. The officers were: Jim Haba, Virginia Hansen, Ardith Jensen, and Judy Lance. Fifty-one of the original eighty-five students reached the status of seniors. Altogether there are sixty-three seniors. Under the direction of officers: Sharlene Blackford, Larry Lien, Ronnie Smith, and Linda Leque, and advisers, Mrs. Davison and Mr. Schumm. They sold popcorn at home ball games and gave a Senior Ball in the spring. A rollicking play, If Mother Only Knew, was staged on November 22 under the direction and supervision of Mrs. McCormick. The class of T958 graduated on June 5 and culminated four enjoyable years of their lives which will always be associated with happy moments and friendly faces. I6
