They tried taking a flight to Seattle one day, but got their wings clipped on the retum tripl I 1 They were prosperous in the rest of their activities, however, and sponsored a mixer, a Junior-Senior Banquet, Junior Prom, Decorated for Baccalaureate and Graduation, and sold ice cream bars at the home games.

-'-Q CLASS Ill 'l'0llY We the Senior Cardinals of Twin City High School, have finished our four stages of growth, and are ready to fly away and take our place among the distinguished Cardinals who have gone before us. ln memory of our class we would like to leave with you, as those before us have done, a brief story of the many things we have ac- complished during our stay at T. C. li. S. In the year nineteen hundred and fifty-one we were laid in the nest called Twin City High School. Loren Gilbertson guided us through our first exciting year with the assistance of Jim Nowak, Marie Hoines, and Don Simonson. We sponsored a mixer, sold ice cream bars at home games, and gave a return party for the Sophomores in the spring. When we broke through our shells and started our second year of high school, we elected Lee Clark as our leader and Walt Von Moos, Margaret Anderson, and Annette Gilbertson to assist. By this time we were a little more steady on our feet and gave a welcome party for the Freshmen, sponsored a mixer, sold candy and hot dogs at the games, and started a new activity, a talent show. It was a big undertaking, but also a big success. When the '53 rolled around we were pretty sure of our footing and ready to take over partial leadership of our flock. To guide us through the year we selected the following officers: Walter Von Moos, president, Ardlyn Afseth, vice president, Paul Borseth, secretary, and Margaret Anderson, treasurer. Everyone worked especially hard this year. and the class sponsored most of the main activities for the year. Among these activities were selling hotdogs at all home games, sponsoring a mixer, giving a talent show, a Junior Prom, and a Junior-Senior Banquet. We also decorated for Baccalaureate and Commencement. Many ofour classmates also took part in Student Day. After completing three successful years in our nest it at last became our turn to rule the roost . lt took a lot of thought in electing those officers best suited to show us through our last year, and after much consideration we came up with the following: Jim Nowak, Annette Gilbertson, lo Anne Blakesley, Paul Borseth, and Mike Zuppe. We, as superior birds, began to give quite a bit of thought to our scholastic standing. Upon graduation, out of forty-five students, fourteen were graduated as honor students. Of course one of our biggest projects of the year was our Senior Ball for which we used the theme, Hawiian Cruise . The Senior Play, The Family Upstairs , was a huge success and brought in a nice little nest egg . We also had a very successful class day, and a pic- nic that was loads of fun at Lake Wilderness. Next came Baccalaureate, and last but by no means least. graduation. On graduation night we went on a wonderful cruise through the San Juan Islands. This cruise was a gift from our parents, who have done so very much for all of us, and to whom we wish to express our deepest appreciation. As you, our fellow-classmates, friends, and parents read this class history, we the class of 55 will be flying away into new horizons of promise, opportunity and good fortune. 14 Y
