Wildcat Basketball Success-Sorrow To many different individuals the 1970-'71 version of Wild- cat basketball meant many different things. Due to the fact many games were won, sports enthusiasts enjoyed the season and to these people the year would be termed a success. Players involved in the games would classify the season as one of second places, starting with Yucaipa, Banning, Needles, and Brethren. At the outset of the season we planned not to loseg however, all other teams planned the same, and on four occasions, we fell away from our plan. Thus, players experienced two feelings: success. . . and sorrow. For the coaching staff, the season represented some happiness, how- ever, the sorrow felt for the boys who worked so hard outshone the happiness. After the first three losses, there was always a next time and we made good on the next opportunity. In the play- offs against Notre Dame, Banning, and Brethran, there was no second chance. We were beaten by a fine team- Brethran. To the Seniors we say: thanks. To the juniors we say: next season is yoursg may you do as well. C. I. F. means simply: Come ln First. E. Bond flili ..
