H. S. doors shall be opened September 10, 1923. And to these doors came a great multitude numbering unto the hundreds, many of whom we had seen passing through the doors of old T. H. S. in the past years. Among' the multitude were found fresh, green things, and they were united and called the Tribe of Freshmen. Also were found sophisticated beings, and they were gathered together and called the Tribe of Sophomores. Likewise, there was an unusually noisy band known as the band of Juniors. But through the vast throng there moved here and there black robed figures, and they did come from the uttermost parts of our community. Yet some of the faces were strangely familiar, for they had been seen in the throng for many moons. They were dignified aloof, and calm, for they no longer cared for the things of the world. And when the others did look upon them they designated them as the Tribe of Seniors, and that was the Tribe the Great Ruler loved so well. And it came to pass in the land of T. H. S. that each Tribe desired to become chief amongst its fellows. So one morning it did come to pass that at a great festi- val, which is known as chapel the Tribe of Seniors did appear and declare that they should be first and last. Red and Blue should be their colors and the Torch of Knowledge their emblem. And he did go amongst them and did say I do love you abose all others. I shall give you from my own council table my wisest man and the fairest and best jewel to be unto you a Father and Mother. I-Iearken unto their words and your days shall be long And the Tribe of Seniors did rise and lift their voices in a mighty shout o joy and gladness And at this time the Tribe did number Two and Twenty. Soon they did propose one to the other that the Tribe should establish two Pep Clubs fRuf-Neks and Peppy 202 so that they should not be forgotten, and if you shoul go to the land of T. H. S. you will find them to this day These and more things did the tribe do But at last the day came when the Great Ruler looked into the heavens and saw that summer was at hand. So he called all the tribes about him, and then in truth the Seniors did don their robes and peculiar shaped caps with the tassel on the side, and from afar came a mighty Elder to deliver unto them a prophecy. Then the Great Ruler did lift up his hands and bless them and did send them from the land of T H. S. to spread his gospel unto all the world. And there was great sorrow in the hearts of the Seniors for each in his heart knew that into the wilderness of ignorance he must go. 1 l 1 , . I D H , I Y 1 .
