SENIOR RECORD THE ambition of every student of the class of 1944 has been achieved. We are graduating. Throughout our four years in high school, we have striven for honors. In athletics, we have won these honors by having championship teams. We have had three members of our class who have won life memberships in the California Scholarship Federation. We have enjoyed activities, one of which has been that of the Student council, which has helped form the policies of the school. We started our Freshman year by taking our initiation well. In our Sophomore year we began to take part in school activities. Students who were eligible joined clubs. Our dramatic ability was shown in the success of the Sophomore Variety Show. As the year advanced, we became attuned to the rhythm of an active school. Eliciting praise from the audience, we gave as our Junior Play, Slippery When Wetf' Even during our Senior year, exclamations of delight are still being heard about the beauty of the Springtime Theme in the decorations for J unior-Senior Banquet held at Lakewood Club in Long Beach, the evening 'of June 22, 1943. The decorations featured were Wishing Wells covered with colored flowers. In our last year we presented a Senior Play; we were hosts to the J uniors at the May Breakfast, and guests of the Juniors at the Junior- Senior Banquet. To represent the qualities that the senior class admires, we chose two students, Pat Grant and J ohn Lawder. Upon graduating, the boys face things that they have not planned. Most of them are entering the service. The girls also face a future that is disturbed. But the training and education we have received in our high school years has prepared us for the future. WILMA MARTIN, Senior Representative.
