They began by electing Bill Englehardt, President; John Bozarth, Vice President; Jane Ferchow, Secretary; Martha Isaminger, Treasurer; and Richard Lindsay, Student Council Representative. Our sponsors were Miss Evans, Mrs. Guariglia, and Mr. Schrader. The year also began with some newcomers, Sue Koger, Brian Royer, Don Smith, and Harold Richards. We lost no classmates. Our Freshmen float didn’t place at Homecoming, but the experience proved to be an asset in our later years. The second phast of our Great Adventure began with the election of our Sophomore officers. They were Gary Brewer, President; Bill Englehardt, Vice President; Tamra Neal, Secretary; Doug Rice, Treasurer; and Kathy Van Dorn, Student Council Representative. We soon found that good friends like Marlene Dougal and Jim Horath come, but also, good friends--go. We lost Peter Brown, Sharon Russell, Myra Slayton, Delores Watkins, Marcia and Mary Wells, and Sue Koger. Our Homecoming Float, We're Expectin' T'win made up for our Freshman disappointment by placing first. As the excitement of being upperclassmen became a reality, we chose Bill Englehardt, President; Doug Rice, Vice President; Mardena Bridges, Secretary; John Bozarth, Treasurer; and Gary Brewer, Student Council Representative. Our advisors were Mrs. McManus, Miss Hall, and Mr. Schrader. Again we learned to give and take by losing classmates, Marlene Dougal, Sue Halterman, Jeannine Hall, Jim Horath, Roger Kelly, Willard Tattershall, Bill Thomas, Paul Vogel, and Brad Wyatt, and by getting new classmates, Donna Beltz, Bill Cover-stone, Teresa Day, Doris Hatchel, Jesse Melton, and Gerald Waters. Our magazine sales earned for the Seniors and for us a fine prom entitled Un Soir a Paris which was held in the Community Building on May 2, 1965. We had a very successful Junior Class Play, Good Night Ladies, and our thanks go to Miss Weaver for her time and patience in directing this play. This happy year ended with Sharon Marsh being chosen as Girls State Representative and Mardena Bridges as alternate, and John Bozarth as Boys State Representative and Gary Brewer as alternate. At last we found ourselves Seniors and our Great Adventure drawing to an end. Our Senior Class of one hundred five members was led by Janet Wright, President; Jan Jamison, Vice President; Barbara Kappes, Secretary; Lois Kleiss, Treasurer; and Shelia Carlson, Student Council Representative. Our Senior sponsors were Mrs. McManus, Mrs. Patrick, and Mr. Schrader. We gained Jeannine Hall and Shirley Martin, but Nancy Forrester, Linda Callahan, Carol Weber, Gerald Waters, and Jesse Melton had left. The first project was Homecoming. Our float, We're not Chicken--We're Laying For Victory, won first place. It was the third consecutive year that our class won first place in the float competition. Homecoming evening was truly One Enchanted Evening, and was highlighted by our win over Unity and the crowning of John Beatty and Maureen Deaver as Homecoming King and Queen. Our DARand SAR awards went to Mardena Bridges and Gary Brewer. The Senior Class Play, 'Our Town, was directed by Mrs. Motta and it was a big success, as was the Prom given to us by the Juniors, entitled Somewhere Over the Rainbow. We all enjoyed helping with our edition of the TUSCOLIAN which we hope all of you are now enjoying. Our sincere and deepest thanks go to Miss Magnusson and Mrs. Allen for their assistance in the publication of the 1966 TUSCOLIAN. Our final steps were taken on June 3, 1966, at our Commencement Exercises following Baccalaureate on May 29, 1966. Thus the end of our Great Adventure. We are truly grateful to our teachers and the rest of the faculty for their time and patience in helping us through our four difficult, but wonderful years at Tuscola High School. Prophecy Your roving reporters, Judy Lewis, Barbara.Kappes, Janet Wright, Steve Beals, and John Bozarth, are reporting to you direct from the 1992 Inauguaral Ball. We have arrived early and have just had our informal meeting with the head social director, Jane Ferchow. She has consented to take us on a hurried visit with the people behind the scenes of this great occasion. We begin at the kitchen where we meet the head chefs, Shelia Carlson and Judy Rahn with their assistants, Gail Carter, Joyce Jordan and Diane Wheeler, scurrying about the kitchen preparing die most requested dish--peppermint pizza with mushrooms on top. Over in the corner the world's greatest wine connoisseur, Puff Cunningham and his able assistant, Martha Isaminger, have just made sure all 600 cases of wine are of vintage quality. We pass the three maids, Barbara Clark, Donna Beltz, and Carol Warnes showing off their skate board abilities as the three butlers, John Beatty, Marc Bright, and Larry Bean dust the chandeliers. Entering the Ballroom, we meet Bill Coverstone, head of the Coverstone Combo who is playing for the dance. At the side are their hairdressers, Maxine Endsley and Jackie Harvey. In the group we have Mike Yost on the drums, Dennis Luster on the trumpet, Ed York on the bass fiddle, Glen Pugh on the tuba, and John Peck on the organ. Jim Allen and Cathy Carroll are practicing their duet one last time before the grand occasion, and the A-Go-Go girls, Connie Stahler and Sandra Rankins, are in their cages. The first guests are beginning to arrive. Senator Carmack with his secretary, Lynne Rahn, is accompanied by the recently impeached Secretary of State, Brian Royer, and his equally corrupt assistant, Fred Fair. Connie French, Ambassador to England, arrives with Steve Warters, Secretary of Agriculture, and Leon Kinney, chairman of the new Social Insecurity Drive in Washington. Immediately following is Suellen Kresin, Speaker of the House, expounding on the latest White House scandal to Alan Houser. Jan Jamison and Harold Richards, Ambassadors from Saudi Arabia, enter followed by their harems, including Becky Alexander, Linda Todd, Maureen Teel and Diane Stirrett; their belly dancers, Kathy VanDorn and Sharon Marsh; and snake charmer, Rick Koehnemann. Next we see Alvin Cohen and Dennis Conn, the co-editors of Playboy and their chief photographer, Bernie Conner. All are special guests because of their work in public relations. The Chief Justices, Greg Skinner and Richard Lindsey, are escorting the Queen of Egypt, Maureen Deaver, and the Duchess of Austria, Jeannine Hall, who are here in Washington pending repeal of their disgraceful exile. The President of Ford Industries, Phil O'Bryan and his friendly competitor, Jeff McMorris, President of General Motors arrive somewhat enraged after their chauffeurs, Don Jenks and Dale Kanitz, had a collision in the drive. Carol Chapman, Tamra Neal, and Mardena Bridges enter dripping wet after just having pulled Gary Brewer out of the White House pool. That magnificient duo, John Lasseter and boy wonder, Bill Englehardt, enter in search of excitement only to find the villians, Jim Helm and Don Smith, have beaten them to the punch being served by Gordon Rice. 74 The White House Athletic Director, Mike Hill, arrives accompanied by his pupil, Debbie Hackett, who is in a wheel chair. Our three newly-elected Representatives from the Moon, Arthur Jones, Tom Martin and Norbert Kappes have just landed by saucer on the White House lawn. The band begins to play soft music and the crowd is moving about with noisy excitement as the last guests enter the Ballroom. The ever-alert doormen, Kenneth Kingery and Mike Kleiss, cause a commotion at the doorway as they block the entrance of party crashers, Regina Minear, Debbie Crady and Sharon Green, who in response, begin T.P.ing the White House. Attention is turned toward the speakers' platform and we see four of the most important members of the Daughters of the Teenage Revolution, Shirley Benner, Marsha Cranford, Teresa Day, and Pam Grover, seated by the Reverend Malcolm Wadland who is the first speaker. After the opening prayer, the latest Hollywood sensation, Hondo Hettinger, salutes the new president with his new recording, Down with Tyranny. Becky Keigley, Linda Kelsey, Lois Kleiss and Kathy Weber swoon, and the house physician, Willie Benner and his nurse, Harriett Weatherford, are summoned. The international playboys, Butch Dietrich, Doug Rice, Harriett Weatherford, are summoned. The international playboys, Butch Dietrich, Doug Rice, and John Rothgeb are immediately on the spot offering their aid in reviving the girls. Due to a flat on the free-way, the world renowned Shakespearean actors, Bob Sodaro and Ron Smith, arrive to find that their play, My Treasured High School Memories, has been cancelled due to lack of enthusiasm among those present. Silence...........Only the dying putt of a Honda is heard as the Vice-President of the United World, Phil Stalls worth, makes his grand entrance. He makes a short speech and turns to introduce the first woman President of the United World, Madame Diane Smith, followed by her train bearers, Jimi Gay Patterson, Diane Moore, Shirley Martin, and Doris Watchel. The 1992 Inaugural Ball comes to a conclusion, and we pick up our coats from the coat check girls, Carla Webb and Sandra Seaney.
