Class History In September of 1957, we entered high school as green little Freshmen. There were eighty of us. For our Leaders we chose Doug Green, President; Kitty Kish, Vice-President; Jeri Little, Secretary; Juanita Hausmann, Treasurer; and Bill Kleiss, Student Council Representative. Our advisors were Miss Cruise and Mr. Brehm. In December we moved into our new high school--that was a glorious day! As Sophomores, our number had increased to eighty-five. That year we chose as our leaders: Carolyn Ross, President; Pat Consoer, Vice-President; Juanita Hausmann, Secretary; Jim Huser, Treasurer; and Carl Kohrt, Student Council Representative. That year our Homecoming float won first place; the theme, Bee-line to Victory. Our advisors that year were Miss Cruise and Mr. Meyer. During that year we sold stationery as a money-making project. As Juniors, there were only seventy-five of us. Our officers were Doug Green, President; Pat Consoer, Vice-President; Kitty Kish, Secretary; Jeri Little, Treasurer; and Bill Alexander, Student Council Representative. Using the Sphinx as our theme for our Homecoming float with the slogan, We Spinx We'll Win, we won second place. That year we sold magazines in preparation for the Junior-Senior Prom. The Junior-Class Play, The More the Merrier, was a big success. On April 30, we gave the Junior-Senior Prom. The theme was Sea Fantasy and it was a lovely affair. Our advisors were Miss Schrader, Mrs. Kennedy, and Mr. Meyer. Our Senior year was the one for which we had all waited expectantly. We chose new officers who were: Denny Hackett, President; Pat Consoer, Vice-President; Juanita Hausmann, Secretary; Kathleen Boy Ison, Treasurer; and Kitty Kish, Student Council Representative. Our advisors for the year were Mr. Meyer, Mrs. Kennedy, and Mrs. Whelage. There were now sixty-four of us. Our Homecoming king and queen were Rex Bridges and Kathleen Boylson, and our last Homecoming was made very memorable by a victory over Unity. Our football boys did very well and went on to tie for first place in the Okaw Valley Conference. The next few months we were very busy working on our Yearbook under the guidance of Miss Magnusson and Miss Sluss. Our very capable co-editors were Carolyn and Marolyn Corrie and Jane Harris. We also had our Senior pictures taken and prepared for graduation by selecting our Commencement announcements and name cards. After Christmas vacation and our semester exams, we settled ourselves to waiting for the Junior-Senior Prom, Senior Skip Day, our class play. Baccalaureate, and finally the graduation ceremony for which we had waited four years. We shall always remember our wonderful years at T.C.H.S. With our classmates and the many faculty members who helped us prepare for a better future. Vallery Randall Mary O’Bryan
