We are the class of 1945 Twenty-three of us have braved the tide And we're full of vigor, vim and pride And we always will stick together. And when our boys have sailed the seven seas And our girls have worked like busy bees To bring them back so we can all be free Then we always will stick together. June 20, 1950 Dear Mr. Gerhart: My present ambition is to fulfill your wonderment about our hearty class of 45 . Recently I was fortunate enough to take a tour through the United States, and here is the thing that is going to surprise you even as it did me then. Rare as it sounds, I met everyone of that class of 45” except you, our faculty adviser, and now I meet you by pen. Here was my trip ..................... While I was in Texas I saw Wayne Ewalt. He now is a cowboy on a large ranch there. Of course you remember James Sherlock; he is now supervising a great road contract in Florida. I went to a theatre in California and what do you know...there was Nelson Swartz as the comedian. While 1 was in California I also saw Letitia Wert, having just signed a contract with M. G. M. as star dancer for three years. In California I met Bradford Repner and his wife. He was making a painting of the Petrified Forests. Keba Ritzman is sole owner of a beautiful farm in Illinois. She is still set on a red head. Doris Koons is now married. She is living in Virginia. She has two of the cutest children. You should see them. Quite a few are still in Pennsylvania. Stanley Kilmer is private secretary to the Governor of Pennsylvania. Edmund Book and Carl McClure are farming in Juniata County. I was told they were the most successful farmers around there. Beatrice Boyer is married, and in her spare time she goes to a nursing center. -IB-
