MARTHA JANE PETERSON JEAN ELLEN SHIRK Martha is quiet and studious. She attends strictly to business and never gives anyone, including the teachers, any trouble or worry. Although she is quiet and her feelings are deep, she is always ready to laugh at the rest of us. Future Prospect - Housewife Ambition - Date every night LESTER CARL McCLURE Kelly is our favorite red head of the school, of course it's because he's in our class. He might act shy and bashful in school but we heard he has quite a way with the girls up the country. He has worked hard and we know he will succeed. Future Prospect - Farmer Ambition - To have Kate in the front seat MARY DORIS KOONS Roonie is a very quiet girl at times, but then she is very funny also, we all laugh at her many jokes. She is a willing helper and does a little bit of everything when we plan a party. She is also a good musician and a good student. Future Prospect - Housewife Ambition - Square dance all night with a Sailor JANE ELIZABETH MAFFETT This dark eyed girl comes from Port Royal. We have known her for four years and still don't know all about her. We hear Jane has quite a number of Servicemen on her letter list. Jane expects to be a teacher. Here is luck to her. Future Prospect - Teacher Ambition - Welcome home the marines. MARTHA VIVIAN YODER Yoder always seems to enjoy herself be- cause she laughs a lot. She keeps us all from getting blue . Besides other talents she is a good musician. She is one pretty girl who doesn't have a single evening. Sherll get along well with that sunny smile. Keep it up. Future Prospect - Business School Yoder Ambition - Marry a millionaire BETTY LOIS MELOY Betsy is another member of our class who can always be depended upon to kpep things moving She was always very willing to help in any way. She is a fine pianist. She is rather quiet, but nevertheless has many friends. Future Prospect - Music Teacher Ambition - To travel around the world. Jean is a merry maid that hails from Port Royal. She is always happy and when trouble comes her way she always gets rid of it. There are very few in the whole school who haven't at one time or other gone to Jean for help. She is an excellent student, even in Math. WILLIAM STANLEY KILMER Stan comes to school from Tuscarora. He is usually very quiet, or at least when the teachers are near. He is studious and usually has his lessons done. Stan is very bashful, especially when there are girls present. One exception is the girl from Fair View. Future Prospect - Doctor Ambition - Date Betty EDMUND KELL BOOK Ed usually has something funny to say in class, which makes us laugh, but he doesn't mind that. He spends most of his time studying Agri- culture and was a great actor. Edmund seems bash- ful about the girls but it has been told he is seen a lot in Walnut. Future Prospect - Farming Ambition - To be a successful farmer. WAYNE KILMER EWALT Abner is a very quiet boy (at times) es- pecially when he has a story of the Wild West to read. He has been a good athlete and a regular student, liked by everyone. Future Prospect - Rancher Ambition - To live out West. KATHRYN ROBINSON HERTZLER Kassy is the musician of our class. She plays and sings very pleasingly. We expect great things of her and we wish her luck. Future Prospect - Opera Singer Ambition - To weigh 100 pounds. LETITIA MARIE WERT Tish is always laughing. She is usually seen in a green Ford, but quite often with a Sailor. She never misses a game at Juniata Joint. She is a great actress and an all-around good student. Future Prospect - Music Teacher Ambition - To become an actress. Future Prospect - Beauty Salon Ambition - To have nine children (all boys) -14-

FRANKLIN LAIRD GILSON FRANK HENRY McCOY HOWER Did anyone ever see Ham without a smile? He always seems to be thinking about soaething funny. He comes to school late every day and tries to see how late he can really be. He's a good athlete and auch liked by his schoolaates. Future Prospect - Dairyman Aabition - To be a Wolf JANES NASON SHERLOCK, JR. Shad is the noisiest boy in our class. He is delighted in arguments, especially in P.of D. Class. He loves to talk, that is, across the seats; we often wonder what it is all about - Nath or Cheaistry? It's soaething about his lessons, of course. How he does like to change the subject - especially when the lesson is difficult. We are sure his naae will soae day be in the Hall of Faae . His favorite way of killing tiae is argu- ing with Niss Campbell. Future Prospect - Faraer Aabition - To stay out later than anyone else on Saturday nights. BRADFORD EUGENE KEPNER Dink is another of our Senior boys who has earned his letter for athletic ability. Dink is rather quiet and doesn't believe in having another girl, but still, we know of certain occa- sions when he has been stepping out. Future Prospect - Mechanic Aabition - To be an artist JOHN BERNAL STITT Dorry comes to school from way up at Spruce Hill. He is so quiet about hiaself that we don't know much about him. He has many friends among the boys. He is a senior the class is proud of. Future Prospect - Farmer Ambition - To get a girl. DOROTHY LOUISE FETTIG Dot is quiet and unobtrusive, but she has helped us over lots of rough spots since we entered High School. Everybody likes Dot because she is nice to all she knows. She is a good student too. Nay her sun always shine and her dreams all come true Future Prospect - Aviatrix Ambition - Keep tab on Ben. Hank has many ways of spending his spare time, but his favorite seems to be with Yoder . He has always appeared to be the financial wizard in our class. Hank has always been a good stu- dent, although rather unruly at times. He is liked by all. Good luck in the Nerchant Marines. Future Prospect - Nerchant Narines Ambition - To marry Yoder . DOROTHY MAE BOYER Dolly is very small, but good things are done up in small packages, and we believe it. She sees plenty of things to laugh about and lets everyone guess what they are about. She is also a good student and spends a lot of time phoning Gene. Future Prospect - Secretary Ambition - To go to the movies with a certain guy from Center. BEATRICE NAXINE BOYER Peachey can never get to school on time, the bus's fault, not her's. There has always been a lot of mischief dancing in her eyes, and she laughs at everything. So long, Peachy . Good luck in the Rug Mill. Future Prospect - Housewife Ambition - To become a successful weaver. REBA NAE RITZNAN Bookie is one of the world's biggest surprises. Before you get acquainted with her, you think she is just a quiet, rather backward girl, but when you know her, oh, boy I She always has something funny to say. She sees all funny things that happen in school and laughs at them. Future Prospect - Own a farm. Ambition - To attract Red's attention. LAWRENCE BENJAMIN TOWSEY, JR. Sped is our class sheik. He is excellent in baseball and soccer, having the honor of doing much to win many games. He has a good voice and is Pres- ident of our class. He is a friend of everyone, especially the pretty girls. Future Prospect - Pilot Ambition - To marry a certain lady flier. -15-
