Though one ofthe smallest divisions on board, it is equal in comparison to the largest divisions in the amount of work it is tasked with and produces. The following ratings make up this division: PN's, YN's, and HM's, along with an NC, and Ma, and a Pc. X Division is the first division a new shipmate comes in contact with and the last division he will see before he transfers. All personnel questions, career guidance, postal matters, medical needs, and security information is obtained from the diverse group of individuals who make up the ELITE and COM- PLETE Executive Division. EXEC TIVE DIVISIO NAVIGATIGN Probably no other rate within the Navy has more tradition behind it than that of the Navigator and his assistants. Ever since man has sailed great distances, he has been fascinated with his relationship to his destination. The Navigation division is responsible for just that . . through tried and true skills, the Navigator and Quartermasters maintained an accurate account of our journey, which touched three continents, nine ports'o'call, fifteen time zones and two hemispheres. Today's Navigator must have a thorough knowledge of old and new, sextant and satellite, gyros and magnets, each with their own properties and peculiarities, each in support of the other. Our quartermasters exemplified these skills through painstaking attention to detail and accuracy.
