As you know, mail has the ability to bring out many emotions. Emotions such as joy. happiness, sorrow and pain. We received all different types of letters from Dear Sweetheart, I miss you to Dear John, l'm sorry, but . . We have received the ever reliable bills from the credit card companies, the bank statements that were months lateg and all of the different kinds of junk mail certainly cannot be forgotten. Believe it or not, bills, junk mail and the other assorted items that have no apparent value are desirable to receive over no mail at all. It gives you the feeling that somebody out there is thinking about you, or at least your money. The military mailing service is really a fascinating process. Consider what a single letter goes through. One of millions, it flies thousands of miles from one country to another, trying frantically to catch up to us. And still, it never seems to arrive soon enough. When it does finally arrive, either by helicopter or on a port call, PC2 Williams, the Navy postal clerk, attains instantaneous popularity. He is the one who sorts all of the mail and makes sure that we get it, and of course he also makes sure that our mail gets off of the ship and on its way back to the States. It will definitely be good to be home again. Sincerely. P.S. REMEMBER THE STAFF

Q -DI 1 to Q f UUBUEEU. f M Division is made up of the following ratings: EN's, and BT's. These engineers find themselves surrounded by veins of steel that carry the blood of life throughout the ship. Here, they meet their challenge, to somehow bring the war vessel to life. Knowing deep in their own hearts that the long hours of toil and the sacrifice of their families will finally pay off when the word UNDERWAY is piped over the 1MC. The many hours spent down in the holes, steaming as the rest of the ship is dreaming, are often forgotten by others, but are burned into the minds of those who give the ship life. All hail the engineers!
