ALVIN D.Wl-IITMER TURPIN, Okla.'-- Alvin Doyle Bud Whitmer, 69, of Turpin, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at his sister's home in Mesa, Ariz. He was born April 25, 1931, to George W. and Mattie M. fHopkej Whitmer in Turpin. He graduated from Turpin High School in 1949. He had worked for area famters. He also delivered newspapers for the Daily Oklahoman for many years and for the Southwest Daily Times for over '45 years. His hobbies included watching Bee .lay baseball, and he had attend- ed all the home games. He threw out the first ball of opening season sever- al years ago. He was a member of the Turpin United Melhofliel QDQXSH. 4!!9..Jl19. Turpin Senior Citizens. ' 1 Survivors include - one sister, Sharon Lea Knutson and husband, Don, Mesa, and nieces, nephews and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Pat Davis. I Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Turpin United Methodist Church in Turpin with the Revs. Jerry Smith, Dan Frisby Travis Welch and Dan Pearce pre- siding. Burial will be at the Liberal Ceme- tery in Liberal. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Friday and from 8-II a.m. Saturday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal. The family suggests memorials to the Turpin Senior Citizens Center in care of Miller Mortuary 908 N. Lin- coln, Liberal, KS 67905. 1 A
