Our year started off well with Mr. Cook becoming our advi- sor and Diane (Piezy) Wong representing our class as Lady-in-Waiting. The theme for Booster Day was Looney Tunes, and our float, Bugs Bunny, placed second. This was our first year attempting our luck as salesmen. We sold candy bars, and were surprised to see that they were so small. Remember our class getting Mr. Baker to change his Health test poli- cy because of the cheating that took place on one particular test?! We ended our year with our first skip day, at David Hastings ' house. As we left our Fresh- men year, we looked forward to our next three years at Turners Falls High School SOPHOMORES 1978-1979 This was the year everyone had been waiting for . . . the ordering of our class rings. Remember trying to find the right color of blue and then finding out how much it would cost! This year’s theme for Booster Day was Walt Disney. Our float, Tigger, won first place, and we were proud of him. Remember how big he looked in Kuzmeskus’ Garage and then when we finally pulled him out, we found he really wasn ' t that big! Carolyn Finck represented our class that year as Dutchess. We can never forget our luck as salesmen, with the memo boards, how many did we sell . . . 20? We never were really good salesmen! We ended the year looking forward to our Junior year and our preparations for our prom. JUNIORS 1979- 1980 We started off the year with a car wash during the summer to raise money for our prom. By the end of the day we were wetter than the cars! The theme for Booster Day was the Muppets and with Animal, once again, we placed first. Everyone said that Miss Piggy would win, but we proved them wrong with “Animal scoring with Miss Piggy”! Sue Henry represented our class as Prin- cess. This was a good year for sports. The girls varsity volleyball and basket- ball teams were both Franklin County Champs and went on to Western Mass. Our class certainly was full of its ath- letes. Then came the planning of our prom, choosing the place, the theme, song, (Through the eyes of Love), etc. We finally had the prom May 10, at Wiggins Tavern in Northampton and the night was very successful. We left for summer vacation looking forward to our last year at Turners Falls High School. SENIORS 1980-1981!!! Our year Started off with our ordering of class T-shirts, Mr. Cook trading us for the field hockey team, and Mrs. Robin- son becoming our advisor. Booster Day was the best ever for us, with a theme of Nursery Rhymes, our float, Humpty Dumpty, won first place. We did it ... 3 years in a row, the first class in the history of the school to do so! We also won the Spirit Award and a scholarship for singing the Alma Mater. We were so rowdy during the rally ... I wonder why?! The senior football players even came over when we yelled SENIORS. ML. Hp f m f. SENIORS (Cont.) Cindy Ambo represented our class as Queen. Remember walking in the rain on Booster Day, the truck stalling on the hill, and how wet we got! Who can ever forget Danny May’s speech about green peas during the Thanksgiving ral- ly! Everyone was excited about class dues for the graduation party and then it was like pulling teeth to get everyone to pay. Then Mr. Dean left us in December with everyone wondering how, when and where to fill out their college appli- cations! Each time we went to the guid- ance office we wondered if they had finally added up our credits right! This was the first year that all of us were able to have lunch together and we had many good times in the senior hall. Re- member thinking that putting the year- book together would be a breeze but instead we watched the deadlines breeze by us. We look forward to gradu- ation with mixed feeling of excitement to be going out on our own but being sad at the thought of leaving all our friends behind; as well as wishing our friends good luck in the things to come and hoping that someday we will all be together again! % Jm Class Cindy Ambo leaves wondering if Kathy will ever figure out all the questions in the world. We are very proud of this fact as it is the high quality of Greenfield tools that has enabled us to make the world GTD’s customers. But more importantly, we are proud of the people who make these tools. For over five generations people in this area have been demonstrating their skills by producing a line of thread cutting and gaging tools that are the finest in the world.
