Mathematics The signs of the changing times were evident in the Mathematics Department this year. The department headed by Mrs. Char- lotte Schepp, who has completed her first year at T.F.H.S., has been updated by intro- ducing plane and modern geometry in the sophomore year and algebra II in the junior year. These courses have been modernized with new terminology, concepts, and sym- bolism. The members of the staff participated in a computer course at Mount Hermon. Math students were given the privilege of at- tending these sessions. While there, they used two teletype machines which are con- nected to a computer at Dartmouth. This project was sponsored by the National Science Foundation and the Montague School Committee, and proved to be a fas- cinating addition for many interested stu- dents. Mrs. Charlotte A. Fresh and exciting new ideas were introduced in the Business Department by three new teachers. To the expanding department, headed by Mr. Robert Avery, were added Mrs. Dorothy Richardson, Mrs. Judith Stockner and Mr. Paul Gigley. In various classes, work projects were set up to produce an office atmosphere. To help the students gain the complete feeling of an office, a secretarial pool was formed in Office Practice.
