VARSITY CHEERLEADERS Cheer Golden Bears To Victory The Varsity Cheerleaders take on a large responsibility at Turner High School. They lead the Pep Club at games and pep assemblies in cheers to promote school spirit. They do their utmost to encourage the Bears to VICTORY! During the summer the cheerleaders attended the Inter- national Cheerleading Foundation Camp at Manhattan, Kansas. They learned new cheers and pompom routines. During the Week they competed against fifty other schools and brought home the black and gold grand championship ribbon. They were graded on cheers, pompom routines, jumps, tumbling, pep enthusiasm and their improvement over the Week. By sponsoring the Mr. Legs Contest, the cheerleaders raised money to buy new uniforms. Their brightly colored and attractive uniforms added sparkle and spirit to all the games.
