PEP R LLIE Pep assemblies play a large part in the extracurricular lives of high school students. Administration, along with various school clubs, sponsored the assemblies held for the purpose of boosting school spirit. Besides boosting spirit, these assemblies were both entertaining and unusual. Skits presented by the Pep Club officers and members always depicted the Golden Bears defeating some dreadful foe. Cheerleaders regularly asked team members to make a speech to further team backing. The Pep Band played at every rally. Composed of advanced band members, they added a sense of rhythm and swing, livening up the rally. Through these rallies, students felt more as part of the school spirit. Cheerleaders lead frequent pep assemblies in order to promote school spirit at basketball and football games. Here Denise Rowe leads the boys pep club along with the student body in a rousing cheer. sntfz I9 BEA R41 X 1 Donna Sullivan, Sugar Bear, participates in one of many skits presented by the Pep Club for the enjoyment of the student body. Brushing her bangs aside, head Varsity cheerleader Connie Gentry f lnds a moment to relax and think.
