ATHLETIC BANQUET Honors Athletes of the Entire Year for Efforts What has traditionally been a Fall Athletic Banquet was changed this year to a Spring Athletic Banquet. The purpose: to honor boys in more than one sport. 'The guest speaker for the Spring Banquet was Al Duer, executive secretary of NAIA. Mr. Duer emphasized several tips to the athletes attending. I-Ie stressed the significance of sports as a good influence in molding char- acter. It is in the carry over later in life of this early training that proves the Worth of all sports. A combination ofphysical skill, mental development and spiritual growth add up to a full, rich, moral life. After Mr, Duef'S speech awards were passed out to boys in varsity and junior varsity basketball--also to boys in track and Wrestling. Al Duer, executive secretary of N.A.l.A. spoke at the Athletic Banquet on the importance of athletics in mold- ing character. 'qw ' 5.- ,div Gary Main and Terry Precht helped to pass down the foodg so everyone could partake in feasting. Director Clinton Ilurt led the boys' ensemble atthe Athletic Banquet.
