Pots, Pans, Pins, and Patterns Behind every successful man is a woman. This statement may not hold true in every case but a woman can be a real asset to herself and her family. She must first realize the importance of the role in life she has chosen for herself-that of wife and mother. She will want to fulfill the responsibility of keep- ing up a home, caring for children and of being an interesting individual to the best of her ability. Home economics helps prepare young women for this responsibility. Turner offers interesting courses such as foods, clothing and home living. Girls are taught the basic arts of preparing nourishing meals, making attractive clothes, and rtmning a household. Excel- lent equipment is provided for these classes so that girls will learn through actual experience the importance of being a successful homemaker. Working on the latest fashions are two students in Mrs. Robertson's clothing class. ,.e- , ,,. Sandwiches are better than burned meat loaf anyday. WILMA HARTENBOWER B.S. The music Two hundred and fifty voices ring out in Handel's Messiah. department has ended another busy and prosperous year at Turner. Accent on Art Accomplishments LOIS LEONARD Art A picture is worth a thousand words. According to students enrolled in art classes at Turner this old Chinese proverb is certainly true. As art class enables the really creative student to display his ability in the way he knows best. The artist sees many aspects of life that others do not. Just as a poet expresses hisfeelings about life through words, the artist does this through pictures. An art class teaches a student to look for real meanings in everyday life and to express his ideas easily to others.
